Re: Daiwa PXL-R Tear Down
internally, they're pretty much the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9eqnMLN9r4 Okay, so it is basically the same internals as the pixy platform it came from. I never owned a pixy and for some reason I thought the PXLR only shared the frame. This vid is helpful...thanks for sharing it. yep, i...

Re: Abu is complete garbage compared to Daiwa and Shimano
Maybe will more correct to say "Abu low profile made in china -is bad compare to D and S" ,then put to all ABU ? [-X How about classic 2500 ,for example? On really bad weather condition all Daiwa and Shimano(maybe except DC) step back ,and this small buddy cast like nothing to do! Most of them aren...

Exactly what i'm thinking. This is especially true when there's so many more option from Daiwa and Shimano.ScoobyDoo wrote:They're not complete garbage.
But their pricing is rediculous.
No clue why anyone would pay anywhere close tomsrp for anything they offer.

Abu is complete garbage compared to Daiwa and Shimano
Now that i have your full attention, how do you feel about Abu reels compared to MB, Daiwa and Shimano? I'm kinda new when it comes to using high end Abu's, and in my opinion, they feel extremely cheap compared to the other three. How can a $300 LTZ be more wobbly, have poor tolerances, crappy paint...

Re: Issue with 2016 Antares DC - What should I do?
Its pretty simple, if you have never done it before, take your phone and take pictures while disassembling, it'll help you for the reassembly. If its a new reel, the anti reverse bearing is probably fine, all you'll need to do is wash it in alcohol or an ultrasonic cleaner. After cleaning, do not pu...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
Do the higher end T3 variants have any other common issues? They are pretty neat looking reels and would make an interesting classic/older reel for a certain rod... The rubber U shaped piece on the hood is always peeling off. Really annoying if you ask me. instead of properly gluing it to the hood,...

Round vs Low Profile reels. Which one do you prefer?
Which one do you enjoy using the most? My vote goes for a 100 size round reel. The only technique i dislike fishing on a round reel is jerkbaits.
I imagine most would go with low profile
