Re: Cold water/ cold front -fall / winter JERKBAIT

How cold? When the water dips below 50, the jerkbaits don't come back out until Spring. Low to mid 50s, I'm a big fan of the Jackall Squad minnow 80 and 95. Anything above those temps, the Rapala X Rap seems like my most productive Jerkbait, no matter what fancy one's I buy. You my friend, are miss...

Re: What rod caught you the most fish in 2018?

No question it was my G-Rod Pro Bass 7MH-F by a mile. Mostly because there isn’t a technique it can’t handle with either bottom contact or moving baits from 1/4 to 1-1/4oz. I really wish they’d get their inventory & distribution issues resolved. They’re so focused on launching their Fly rods they ke...

Re: Kistler He3 vs ALX Zolo

I have only one HE3 (7'3H exfast) and no ALX. I find the HE3 extremely sensitive- far better then my old school GLX rods and very competitive with my NRX. I sometimes throw small spinnerbaits on braid and have nice hook up ratio on this non-traditional approach. My next rod maybe the 6'9 MH or 7'4 ...

Well it’s definitely not the standard wire G-Finesse. Somebody tells you that they’re hallucinating...just show them the image above

Re: Kistler He3 vs ALX Zolo

I can only add my thoughts on the H3. I have the 6-9 MHXF and love it for jigs to 1/2oz. Actually 3/8 & 1/2oz jigs & TR’s are all i use it for. It truly is an XF tip and would be near the bottom of my choices for spinnerbaits or other reaction baits. I would look at the H3 L-MH fast if you’re lookin...

...And in less than 3 short months, they are heading to the bargin basement section. 15% off origional retail. I'm sure it is a great rod, but it's also a testement to lack of a high end rod market here in the US (or at least one cornered one by GLoomis). Probobly was not a good move introducing th...

Re: What’s your 2019 Rod to have?

The JDM Ugly Stick was out of my price range so I might have to settle for this... Luxxe Zephyos.jpg http://www.gamakatsu.co.jp/client/product/showDetail?itemCode=24547 They really need fire their entire rod nameing department. If you’re getting their whole line up, don’t forget to pick up a some o...

Re: Jerkbait rod

I posted earlier on this thread that I had just got a Steez Fle-X-Lite 6’ 5” ML, I had not fished it at that time. I had the opportunity today and it was awesome. It was 36 degrees out with 39 degree water temps and I landed on a mega school of wintering fish. Best day of jerkbait fishing ever for ...

Re: Looking for a rod recommendation (shakey head, weightless worms, jerkbaits)

For the shakey and weightless worm, the NRX 893 is king in my hand. 12# FC ideal but it will protect 10#. the jerkbait though is something I throw on a 6'3 to 6'6 rod more so for retrieve. I could live with the 893 but not sure the length would ever suite me on the jerkbait. Before the 893, I was a...

Re: Conquest 842s

I have one and I love it. I also have had IMX Pro’s, GLX, and NRX. The Conquest is lighter and stronger than any of the others. Sensitivity is about the same as an NRX. In my opinion, you can do pretty much anything you would want to with a spinnng rod with the 842s (except drop shot). I might be i...

Re: You guys hear about a Vision 110+2 ?

Yeah thanks Mark. I’d just like to know the resistance compared to a +1 and other DD’s. The total surface area looks about the same as a Pointer XD but it looks shorter & broader. I’m sure it’s been tested thoroughly and won’t suck :D

#6 Katsuage Vs #6 Gamakatsu Nano finesse

I looked to see if anyone posted this before and didn’t see a dedicated thread. I wanted to check the weights between these 2 hooks due to all the “don’t change your Vision hooks because it’ll mess with the balance and buoyancy” yeah I’m thinking the difference is going to be imperceptible. Just ord...
