Re: NRX Help.
Just wanted to thank everyone for their input. Tackle Trap had a sale and picked up an NRX894 JWR for 4 bones new. You guys were spot on. Its perfect for my 1/2oz pitching. Mounted my IP79 and will get some action tomorrow. I made a couple hundred pitches in the yard and it feels great. Sensitivity ...

Re: 13 Metanium xg or hg????
I was going to post this same topic and seen this. Good info. If the OP doesn't mind, I have a question. In the past with some Shimano reels, the 7 gear reels had more noise than the 6 gears. I plan on grabbing one for Jigs. I really want the XG for speed, but is there going to be more noise in the ...

It is big, but I really like it.
Re: NRX Help.
Talking with a buddy who has tried a few I'd lean 894c. I grabbed an 854c for my 1/2oz jig work since like you said, my 3 powered NRX had a 3/8 sweet spot. I was told the 894 has more power than the 854 and the 854 is a wicked 1/2oz jig rod. I thought about the 895 as well but was told it was a bro...
Re: NRX Help.
I was in the same boat as you. I wanted something more powerful than the 746 in the NRX line up. I too fish a 1/2oz jig in wood/brush/laydowns/bushes ALOT. NRX 894 is perfect. Just an amazing rod. I got a really good deal on one and put a full cork grip + balanced it in the blank. I use a tdz 103ml...
Re: NRX Help.
I looked at the measurements of deflection in the TT site. The 873 measured a 1.55, the old MBR844 like a 1.48 or something and as I said the 894JWR is a bit stouter then the 844. Guys in this forum will talk about the 873 being a powerhouse while others talk about using it for spinnerbaits. Based ...
Re: NRX Help.
Why is that? You'll have to forgive me, I'm kinda new on Loomis rods and have no experience on the MBR.Tavery5 wrote:Take a look at the NRX MBR series.
Re: NRX Help.
I like the 894jwr a great deal for 1/2 to 1oz jigs. I also have fished a 5 inch senko on it for a full week over grass and it was great. My understanding from many posts is the 895 gets tip heavy. So the 894 would be my recommended rod but I am a little concerned to fully recommend this to you as m...

MG7 atop NRX 873CCR
I may have found the perfect 3/8 oz jig dragging machine.
Dressed out Metanium MG7 with gold Hedgehog accents, Hawgtech 94mm handle, Winn knobs atop my new NRX 873CCR.

NRX Help.
Need a little help. I just got my NRX873c CCR today. I am super stoked. Now I want another. I know its rated up to 3/4 oz, but for me the sweet spot feels good at 3/8 oz with trailer. A little info, I prefer a much heavier powered rod for pitching Jigs. My DX745 feels a tad under powered to me. GLX ...

I like to fish mine on a Megastrike Shakey Head 3/8 oz head. Stands my tubes up every time.
