Re: Gloomis NRX 804s XMR?
Last minute change due to 804xmr being back ordered. I went with 843s mr instead...... Seems more "all around" after I spoke to multiple shops about it. WOW....843S is a much better rod imvho.... even I don't have one. But I would definitely grab this for inshore as well as heavy cover fresh water ...

Re: Should I get 872s or 902s NRX
I have 902s and love it, but wouldn't use it for bottom contract. I was just thinking of buying NRX 902S for bottom contact :)... I am wondering why you wouldn't use it for bottom contact? WW Feel a little soft for bottom contract for me, same for the person who owned it before me. The power was to...

Thanks for info.BoatBuggy wrote:I have a Ballistic EX that has that gap when the handle is on the right side but there's no gap when the handle is on the left side. I have the handle on the right side and it doesn't seem to have any effect on the reel's performance but it is kind of weird.

1st, 600 plus views and no reply? Madness I say :laugh1: I thought for sure someone would have chimed in. Good luck in getting your gap/space issue addressed ;) I am sure somebody has something for you, as that would drive me bananas as well. 2nd, I believe I see the real problem in this situation ...

Re: Anyone have any info on a Megabass F4-70 GTA US Tour Limited?
Thanks! megabass rod ratings are quite confusing lol and i see that some models/series the ratings are different even if they have the same f rating. I can see this getting out of hand real quick with the money haha All I know megabass rods like handphones.... so many version in a year. sold of the...

Re: Bass spinning rods for rock fishing, is that possible?
Hi Wirinhar, You will have no problem using bass spinning gear in saltwater. I live in California and I rockfish with light gear all the time. I use 7' rods rated only 6-12lb and catch plenty of rockfish and the occasional ling cod! I use braid (10lb up to 20 lb) with a fluorocarbon leader and 60 -...

Re: Bass spinning rods for rock fishing, is that possible?
Sounds like some very fun fishing. I must admit that the rods you mention are not generally available to me either. Of the rod series you mention, the only series I have tried are the St Croix Legend Elite (casting) rods and they are very nice. I would personally go for a 7’6” (over a 7’) - it will...

Re: Bass spinning rods for rock fishing, is that possible?
I have used many different “freshwater” rods for saltwater fishing for many years. Cork handles generally haven’t been a problem. I always rinse/clean my rods thoroughly after use in saltwater (reels too). I did have one 1st gen Abu Vendetta rod which did suffer quite a bit of corrosion at the guid...

Re: Braid with leader for crankbaits
Leader is a must for me either heavy cover or open water. i only use 1 or 2 foot long fluorocarbon leader (30/40lb) for crankbait and also 2 foot long mono shock leader for heavy cover to play on top water plug.... (just a thin layer vaseline is always nice to be applied on the braid, about a foot l...
