Re: Daiwa Exist vs. Daiwa Steez 2508/2510

X2 on the question. Been looking at both. Would love to know from folks with experience with these. Had all of them; Stella imho is an overall stronger, tighter feeling reel. Newer Exist/Steez are plastic zaion and I personally would never spend that kind of money on non-metal. They are lighter, wh...

Re: Need a frogging only reel...

Another one for the Zillion TWS. Slap on some HH Air HD and you'll be casting TWO miles. :big grin:
Oh and you can skip around with ease if your into that.

Re: One TOTALLY STOCK reel to rule them all

You are tough! Let's make it under $300, so we can see what affordable reels folks choose. Any other restrictions? Current production only? Hahaha You are so tough! New in box, available new today or within the last five years. I read so much here about how guys modify their reels after they ...

Re: Action vs. Soft Tip vs. Taper

My interpretation is, Taper/ action: the point in a rod tip when it transitions into backbone. A percentage will often be used to describe a rod tip action when under load to where only the certain portion of the rod will bend. 10%tip 90% backbone = extra fast 20% tip 80% backbone = fast 30% tip 70%...

I pair mines with a Steez and it suffices.
Never thought of pairing the PXTR though. I'll have to give that a shot and experience your dilemma.

Re: Gloomis wild card program?

I never had success in the past my wild card anyway. No retailers acknowledged the program. Not even the certified Loomis dealers or the big box stores. I was told that I'd have to deal with Loomis directly. Meaning I'd pay out of pocket to ship it out to Loomis, but that's just me using the warrant...

Re: SV spool for cranking

I prefer SV for smaller cranks under 1/2oz. Such as squarebills and light mid divers. The SV excels at short accurate cast with a squarebill and can handle the lighter cranks. Larger, heavier, deep diving cranks, I go with a standard Mag Z. To me, it feels like overkill on the SV spool to bomb cast ...

Re: Zero adjuster

You really shouldnt have to adjust the CC until the spool doesnt over run. That is what your brakes are for. People misuse the CC for what its really for. Just to keep side to side play out of the spool. Utilize the braking system, thats what they are there for. Any schmo can turn all their brakes ...
