Re: Which graphite cranking rod?
The Kistler rod I have been using is the finesse worm tube jig micro model. I know its not a "cranking" rod but it has a soft enough tip and moderate enough action to get bye. But It only has an 8" handle and is the micro guide model. I like at least about a 9.5" handle. Does the Falcon Cara have th...

Re: GYCB Senko Alternative
I second using the O rings with the original senko. If you wacky rig that is the way to go, you can fish the same bait all day and catch a dozen fish on the same worm more often than not and it doesn't get torn up.

Which graphite cranking rod?
I seem to do better casting a graphite cranking rod than the more whippy composite ones. I have a Kister KLX rod I have been using that works good but I am not such a fan of the micro guides and the shorter handle. What do you think of the following 3 I am thinking about, I want a full grip that isn...

Where to get SV 105 spool alone in black?
Is there anywhere you can buy the Steez SV 105 spool by itself in the charcoal/black color that it comes in on the SS SV reels? I have an orange one I put in my TD Ito and love it and would like one for my TDZ-R+ but the orange spool doesn't go so great with silver and red and I really don't want to...

Senko colors for murky water/low light
I do great in clear water with green shade senkos but what are good colors for murky water and for clearer water but in low light when visibility is down?

Re: Steez SV spool bearing
I think I will just leave the stock bearing in then, it is performing great! Did you have backlash issues with the honeycomb spool free spooling that long? I know when I put a Boca or Hedgehog spool bearing in my honeycomb spool it gets kind of wild and hard to control, but when I put a not as free ...

Steez SV spool bearing
I was going to change out the spool bearing in my Steez SV spool but I noticed the hole is way smaller than normal and my normal Hedgehog TD-Ito spool bearings don't fit. Is there another size that will work for the SV spool or should I just leave on the stock spool bearing? Is it part of the spools...

Re: Daiwa Steez SV Spool - Review
I don't really mind having to use my thumb when it hits the water, I still have to do that some because I leave the tension knob fairly loose. But what I really love is I can cast hard and aggressively when I want to with the brakes pretty low and still have no fear of an overrun. Which is especiall...

Re: best weedless hook for wacky senko
Thanks! I have been using the VMC's but they still get stuck in brush for me pretty easy to, so I'll have to try the Owner's since at least they are sharper. I like their mosquito hooks in open water where I can't get snagged.

Re: Daiwa Steez SV Spool - Review
I got a Steez SV 105 spool and put it in my TD -Ito. My Ito had been a bit "wild" for me with the stock or ZPI RC-002 spool where to make it trouble free I had to turn the brakes up enough it hindered casting a bit. But with the SV spool I can just launch about any weight of bait with no issues what...

Re: GLX MBR 842C or NRX 842?
Yea, it sounds like the NRX is what I am looking for since the history doesn't really mean anything to me since I haven't used either one. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some level of performance lost in the NRX that made the GLX a classic. And if its a little lighter power that would proba...

Re: GLX MBR 842C or NRX 842?
What are the strictly performance advantages of the GLX 842 over the NRX? I know the NRX is a little more sensitive but cosmeticly people like the full cork grip and traditional guides on the GLX. But in the store the split grip on the NRX felt very comfortable and it felt very well balanced with my...

Re: GLX MBR 842C or NRX 842?
Usually one sells on ebay every couple months for $200 to $250 so I would just have to be patient. I am not so much concerned about the cost but what would be a more fun rod to fish. I know the NRX is an NRX but the GLX MBR 842 is a real classic to.
