Re: Calcutta Conquest JDM vs. US? Sizes?
I went ahead and ordered a Conquest 400 from Digitaka. Their communication was, well non-existent but they shipped fast, and I had my reel within a week. Nice. For those interested here is a pic of the 2018 Conquest 400 compared to Daiwa Pluton 200, and Millionaires 253 & 300. The Conquest 400 is a ...

Lure & Boat Back Lash?
I ordered a rod from them last week and received one confirmation email outlining how extra costs might be incurred with an oversized item, duties, etc. I asked them them to give me a cost on this. That was early last week. After sending 3 more emails I still get no response. Is this typical for the...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Yeah Asian Portal just notified me that they cannot ship rods that are longer than 5 feet through Japan post. So I’m stuck because it seems like they are the only one that has the Monstro 710 in stock. Any ideas?
How are you guys getting these rods shipped?

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
I'm not opposed to the 2 piece. I have a 3 popping rods: Yamaga Blanks, Black Hole and Ghost Hunter that are all 2 piece 70/30 with upper joining at the handle. It's a nice and strong connection unlike the 50/50 split of the past. Nice..I've been looking at a Yamaga 7'3 TZ Nano to pair with my 2510...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Ok that's better. I was using Safari, not Chrome. That Tulala Monstruo 710 is nice and within my budget. I also like the Horizonte 80, though it seems a tad lighter. The Horizonte 83 seems very heavy (up to 10oz. baits). I'm not crazy about the spiral wrap though... and I'm trying to determine if th...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.
Could only find that rod in Asia. Are you familiar with the Megabass Black Jack? Tackle Trap has the TS711X at 20% off... I wouldnt suggest a rod with a bunch of anodized aluminum bits and pieces if your fishing saltwater. Both of those rods have as much style as they do substance. Think more Mike ...

Haha. Yes. It’s a sickness I tell you! Thanks.
I wonder how they measure those spool widths?

Re: ICAST 2019
How can I get into i-cast? I'm not in the fishing trade, per say, though I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express... sorry couldn't resist. But seriously, I'd like to go. I do have a certification and side business as an archery instructor. Do you did I could get in claiming my interest is in bow-fishin...

Re: Calcutta Conquest JDM vs. US? Sizes?
[/quote] I can't answer all of your questions, but I can tell you this with close to 100% certainty: -The US and JDM 18 Conquest 300 and 400 are identical. Same design, drag, handle length, gear ratio, weight, spool capacity ect.. The differences between the 300 and 400 is only the spool width and s...

Righty Spinning AND Lefty Casting?
More and more I'm hearing about getting LH casting reel if I use right-handed spinning. Switching hands with casting has never been a problem for me, but the insistence of some has me thinking if there is new info that I've not considered.

Re: New Calcutta Conquest coming?
Not to highjack the thread as I have one out with no posts yet, but can anyone tell me the difference between the JDM and the US models of the 2018-19 Conquest? I'm also looking for a size comparison between the 300 and 400 versions.
