Re: megabass destroyer Daemos
I have this rod also, I like it alot but its best suited for 1/2 and up spinnerbaits/chatterbaits. You can throw lighter baits with it but its not intended to be a light bait rod. I throw lighter baits on the jerkbait special Orochi XX now thats a killer rod. I like the Daemos and ill keep it but if...

Re: Is it Daiwa, Shimano, or someone else?
I grew up using Shimano reels but Daiwa is killing it with their braking systems. Its nice to be able to just snug the tension knob just so its not loose and use the Magforce to brake with. I never touch the tension knob!

Re: Whats your smoothest reel
Daiwa SS SV with a 8.1 brass gear is by far the smoothest reel iv had in a long time. I think Daiwa reels spin more freely in the handle than Shimano. I think the new Shimanos and their huge gears kind of take away from that freeness(if that make any sense)that Daiwa has. JMHO

Well that bites!JBcrankaddict wrote:Ci4 set wasn't even close, so I would say that the MGL set wouldn't work either, since the frame didn't change.illini wrote:Has anyone tried a chronarch MGL grear set? it pretty much the same reel!
The gears swap in the Curado 70 to the 200i, so there is some interchangeability.

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...
The only new Shimano reels worth buying for me now are Metanium and Aldebaran but these are in $400s range. I disagree, The Curado/Chronarch line up is better than ever. The Metanium i was less impressed with after fishing the new Curado 70xg and Chronarch mgl. IMO i see no need for the Metanium an...

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels
For the money the Curado 70 and 200I is hard to beat.
Curado 200I paid $99 from Scheels
Curado 70XG paid $142 from scheels (price match)
I cant express enough how big a deal X-Ship is to these lower end reels.
