Re: Zero adjuster
You can still adjust the zero adjuster, it is just set to Daiwa's suggested tension. Some have actually mentioned loosening it a hair more if they are good with the thumb. Friends of mine just ever so tiny tighten the zero adjuster for more control and zero chance of backlash. So basically there is...

Zero adjuster
I've yet to fish the Steez TWS with the Zero Adjuster.
Any pros and cons of the new system?
I understand all adjustment are made with the Mag brake. Is it the same concept as a cast control where you gradually increase until your spool doesn't over run?

Re: Universal Death....
The only mag seal bearing in baitcasters is the outer pinion bearing. the one under the cast control cap. you can service the reel as normal without affecting it as the magseal is contained in the bearing. Gotcha. I just thought that the Mag sealed bearing was the pinion bearing under the drive sha...

I'm assuming Mag sealed bearings need to be pulled before doing any service?

Is the infamous Daiwa Death Screw universal for non TWS reels?
I don't have schematics for part #s.
Does Daiwa still use them in their TWS reels?

Forgot to mention.
If you send it back to Loomis, that's out of your own pocket.

Re: G Loomis Quality Control
For one, Loomis isn't known for their QC. Depending on which retailer you bought it from, you should be able to return without a question. If PayPal was involved whether it's a retail or personal transaction, you should be able to contact the seller and request a refund through PayPal. I've bought m...

If you prefer low profile, I too agree with the Tranx. That price point is hard to beat.

Re: Pitching Reel?
Anything with a TWS. The ease of pitching is unmatched.
If you prefer a standard line guide, the aforementioned are solid choices.
The classic Zillion Type R won't disappoint either.

Just tape off the non cork parts (reel seat, blank, etc.) as you would painting anything. Beware not to use too much as it does run a bit.

Dumb question...
I've been on the fence about going the custom route for a long time now. It's a matter of pulling the trigger. So all this is new to me.
Here goes my dumb question..
Is there any warranty towards the blank at all?
How does one go about a broken rod?
