Re: Which DC reel has the best "whine"

Out of the met dc, exsence, and calais - the calais seems the loudest to me.

Re: Chronarch MGL vs. Metanium MGL

They are incredibly similar. So far after being inside of them the only difference seems to be the bearing on the spool on the mgl isn't on the chronarch. (silent tune) The mgl has two bearings per knob vs one bearing per knob on the chronarch. I added the bearing to the knob and the one on the worm...

Re: Chronarch MGL

The Metanium mgl spool has a bearing on the spool itself (silent tune). The chronarch mgl spool looks the same but doesn't have the bearing on it.

It's the same size as all shimano knob bearings- they are 4 bucks from boca or shimano.

Re: Metanium MGL Stiffness Help?!

My mgls are super close to my conquests for smoothness- I did the worm gear bearing upgrade. These reels do feel stuff out of the box, just fish it . It will loosen up nicely after some use. They are butter when broken in.

Re: Chronarch MGL

Awesome - thanks for the pics
Do you know if it has one bearing per knob or two?
That should be a sweet little reel. I really liked the old ones. Can't wait to get my hands on a couple.

Re: Chronarch MGL

I know it's off topic but I want to know if it has a bushing on the worm hear that can be replaced by a bearing like the met mgl and aldebaran.
Anyone have a pic of the schematic?
Thanks!

Re: NRX 843C vs. SBR 813C for spinnerbaits

I use the 843 with a 6:3 mgl for spinnerbaits - it's great.
I would recommend the 853 as a second for the lizard.

Re: Why does it seem that the Curado I series

When you replace the bushing with a bearing on the worm gear and swap the four bushings four bearings in the knobs - the curado I becomes a very VERY nice reel - especially for what you can pick them up for. I'd rather that they were made in japan, but having had E's and I's - the I series is suppor...

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+

When you remove the cast control cap, press the thumb bar and spin the spool all three bearings spin. You can watch the one under the cast cap spin with the spool shaft. If I were going to replace bearings then I would personally change all three. At some point in any reel the spool shaft will spin ...

Re: Any news from Yokohama tackle show?

Ok guys so on some sites I am seeing rumors of "hagane" side plate and others are saying alum frame and handle sideplate for the chronarch mgl?

Could it be? It does have micro module gearing symbol on the side. . .
