Re: Sunline Super Natural

In my humble opinion... 3) Moderately disappointed or 4) Monumentally pissed off Now, in Super Natural defense there isn't anything 'bad' about it. But comparing it to Defier isn't fair. They're on a different level. Defier you fish until you know you shouldn't and then you swap. Super Natural you f...

Re: Eliminating Backlash on Strong Casts

The backing is 50 yds. of Sufix braid, topped by 300 yds, of Daiwa Samurai. FWIW, As I look over my original post, I think a better description of the overrun I'm experiencing is "midway" through the cast. Originally I said it occurred in the beginning, and that is not completely accurate. Not sure...

Re: Eliminating Backlash on Strong Casts

new combo I'm breaking in If your braid is digging you’ll feel it and I see no problem tossing 1.5oz on 30lb. I’ve done it many times. But, the rod itself can be contributing. It happens when actual bend prior to release is too moderate. It could be obvious, such as distance casting a jigging stick...

Re: Rats vs Fish Profile

Rather surprised no feedback so I’ll chime. In short, there is no firm answer. But for me, it’s rodent during rain or overcast and fish during sunup or calm. Otherwise take your pick. But I do believe profile matters so I look to mimic best I understand. Many a day fish cruise shallow in sunlight be...

Re: fluorocarbon line shootout

I'd like to see a new shoot-out on FC as well. I wonder if things have changed or that there are new players on the market since the last one though. I’d love to read it but a legit shootout becomes more difficult by the day. It might take a year to complete as is. And even if it could be done more...

I put the lure on the hanger, tighten up any slack, then grab the line mid-way of the guides and wrap it around the blank, letting one guide be the "anchor" that the line holds onto.
^^^ This the trick

Re: Are we destroying our Gear Sets by pulling out snag?

Safety first. Wrapping line around your hand is risky, especially in wind or current. If you know you can break it or bend a point then so be it but otherwise not a good idea. As for using the reel, if you must, just point the tip straight to snag and slowly torque into the pull. You'll know before ...

Certainly in running for The Greatest no question. I smile and let out sigh of relief knowing no matter how bad it gets it'll never get THIS bad for me. And I thank you for that. Oh, and don't forget, I got a direct contact for a trustworthy psychologist with your name on it. I got you brother.
