Re: Loomis 853/854 vs 893/894

I don't have an 894 but I've seen more than a few comments about the NRX 894 being a little tip heavy. I have a current GLX 854 and a current GLX 893. I generally use the 854 in shallower water with heavier cover (mostly lily pads) and the 893 in deeper water with not as much cover to dunk tx rigged...

Re: Megabass rod help

The Duo 90's are 1/2 oz and according to Duo they were developed for use with casting gear. I use 10lb Sunline FC Sniper which is in the lower end of the line diameter range specified by Duo. IMO, it's only finesse in that the line is light and the retrieve is slow. The baits are heavy and cast a mi...

Re: Megabass rod help

Can anyone comment on how the Hein would do with Duo 90 and 80 GFix spybaits? I much prefer spybaiting with casting gear and my primary rod is a GLX 852c JWR and use my XX Flatside Special as a secondary rod. 99.9% of my spybait fish are smallies so the rod needs to be able to react quickly to all t...

Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

No, I actually don't, I bought 2 Zillion SV TW'S after trying one then branched out and tried a Chronarch MGL. Will probably always wish I had bought a 7.9 SV103. There are a few people on here who remind me, they were right. I'm still happy with my reels though, from what I hear the stock spool in...

Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

This is what I am thinking, for the price of the Tatula's (SV) I'm not scared to put one to the test hard. Do you have both the Tat and Zillion SV? I have a few Tat SVs (I think I have 7, maybe 8) and they are my general purpose reels that I use for everything but the three things I use the Steez S...

Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

Yeah it's crazy expensive but I think the Steez SV TW is an exquisite reel and is one that simply melts into my hand. I have one on an NRX 802c that I use for poppers and one on a Diablo Spec-R that I use for swimjigs. Butter smooth and a simple flick of the wrist is all it takes to launch. I wish I...

Re: T-wing and line holding

When I'm pitching, every now and then I'll just make a full cast and reel it in to tighten up the line and spread it out evenly over the spool. Every once in a while I get a fish doing this.....

Re: First look at new Megabass Orochi XX rods

I have a question about the old vs. the new jerk bait rod...what was the rear handle length on the previous generation versus the 2018 model? Also, on the previous generation, what was the rear handle length of the jerk bait vs. flat side vs. spinnerbait special? Thanks! I can't help with the "old"...
