watch ebay or other swap/sell type boards for used rods. you should be able to find a deal on a st. croix, get the model you can afford. good luck.

the curados are almost bullet proof and you can't go wrong. that being said, i would buy a shimano scorpion it has the external brakes and is the same size as the curado 100. if i had the extra money i'd get the mg version. i own a pixy and alpha ito they are great reels but my scorp mg is just as n...

here are a couple more of my rods, the red one has a flocked reel seat on an old green st. croix legend elite blank, i using a shimano scorpion on it. the superman logo is inlayed in a blue eva grip on st.croix legend tourny blank, i put a 2500 shimano twinpower on it.
