Re: Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c

I don't have the DRX754, but I have the DRX755 and it's feels slightly more powerful than the NRX+ 873crr... I'll check when I get back home and update. Much appreciated! Sorry this is kinda late—forgot until I went to put away some new hooks I got. The 873crr feels more powerful than the DRX755 be...

Re: 2024 SLX with MGL 3 spool.

I'm interested to see what the durability is like--everyone always comments that after a year of use the SLX are not nearly as smooth as the Curado counterpart. If the longevity and durability is there...this might be a low key killer. At one time, I owned a regular STX, a STX XT, a STX MGL, and a ...

Re: 2024 Metanium DC

Is the palming side plate still made out of magnesium, or is it plastic? If its plastic, i kinda get why its so light for a DC reel. The New Metanium DC does not contain brass gear anymore. It is aluminum now  That's really unfortunate that they go from brass to aluminum. I get that a lot of r...

Re: Do you still use Boca Bearings inside your reels?

I tried them in a few reels 5 or 10 years ago, they were nice, but these days the stock bearings on almost any Daiwa or Shimano reels are going to be just as good as any aftermarket bearings, so it’s not worth it to me This is pretty much me these days. I did just recently receive 10 sets of hybrid...

Re: Bearing oil

I've been using Quantum Hot Sauce Reel Oil for years now with very good success. I know there is a love/hate relationship with Quantum Hot Sauce products, but the oil has been a very good performer for me. I still use the grease in a lot of my older Shimano reels, but I'm switching to the Daiwa Spac...

Re: Looking for a slightly more powerful and versatile rod than the NRX+893c

I have both the NRX+ 893c and 873crr--the 873 has a softer tip for sure and would be close to what you're looking for except it still has recoils. Might want to consider the Steez 7'2" Heavy--I have the 7'3" MH (Utility Player) and it's closer to the 893. I've read a lot of good things on the Power ...

“Magseal Delete Kit” aka a normal 5x9x3 bearing and a 1mm thick washer because the magseal bearing is a non standard size at 5x9x4
This is awesome! Great find!

Oh boy...a Lucky Craft LV500 in Chartreuse Shad is what I'd probably pick.

Re: 2024 Releases/Rumors

70 yards of 14# mono for the new Met DC--doesn't look like this is going to be my new jig reel with 20# fluorocarbon.

This will probably make a sick squarebill reel though!

Re: What color Senko should I use?

I only throw black and blue now.

I experimented one day where I brought 1 of every color that I own and would just switch colors after every fish. I went through several colors and they all caught a fish.

Re: Servicing LT MQ MagSeal spinners

Did you ever find someone or somewhere that you could send your reel too?

This is my fear with the Magseal Steez A2--I don't know where you're supposed to pick up this oil or how to clean it out properly!?

This is dope! A friend of mine brought me back a 23 Met 100XG from his trip to Japan and it's a thing of beauty.

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

St. Croix - never held one that felt good in hand. Tip heavy as all hell. The actions were too powerful/weak, and the looks are God awful. The new victory looked good on paper, drove to the shop, picked them up and was so unimpressed. Balance is so bad. I don't get the Dobyn hate. Especially when t...
