Re: Using Tin to pour jig heads

Use can melt solder down and use it
That's how I used to make a bigger but less weight flipping jigs and buzzbait years ago. It works really good.
Just must sure it does not have the flux in it

Re: Jig rod selection

I am using a Daiwa Steez Bottom Contact and found this rod to be my new deep water jig and t-rig & c-rig rod. Wow it is fantastic

In case you haven't seen it...

Thanks Cal !!
It was hard to purchase it as I'm a die hard Daiwa guy since 1980 but I'm going to give it a fair shake. I'm going old school Daiwa 5.1 reel which may balance it a little more.

Re: Tatula Elite bottom contact rod?

The tatula elites 6-9 or the 7-1 is perfect for you then. I live down in the swamp of Louisiana and those rods work great. The tip isn't as soft as some say. I love mine for jigs and pitching senkos with heavier weights Jeff Also how does it skip and pitch a 3/8oz weight like a 5.5 senko? I never h...

Re: What early 2000s crankbait rod?

For this thing. A TD-S that I'm pretty sure was a JDM only model based on the procaster but with aluminum frame and handle side plate. I've got a TD-Z Type R spool in it, TD-Z drag star and will be getting a period handle for it too. Its a very smooth cranking reel and I want a period rod for it to...

I really don't see why would anyone even consider buying any daiwa reels outside of japan
I have both JDM and USDM Steez baitcasters but much rather buy JDM because of a different gear ratios and cheaper in price. Prices are starting to get out of hand

Daiwa Exist 22

At $860.00 USD I guess Daiwa has lost their minds. I've been using Daiwa since 1980 and have seen or used everything they've made freshwater at one time or another but imo this is a little to much. I know this is their flagship reel with all the bells and whistles but at that price point it'll be ou...

Re: MegaBass worm rod

I do like to use a 1/8 ounce weight on a worm or a creature bait at times. Jeff I've used both a 1/8 ounce weight and a 1/8 oz. shakey head (of course, the plastic will get the weight up depending upon its bulk). I think that this is the "low end" of the rod as a really finesse 1/16 oz. or weightle...

Re: MegaBass worm rod

I have narrowed it down to 2 rods The Dark Sleeper or the 72X X-Bites Having never own or let along held a Megabass rod I think either of these will work for what I want to do. What y'all think Jeff I have both rods. Besides 2" in length, the real difference in the rods is the action. Specifically,...
