Re: Aldebaran BFS
I have the same reel on a UL major craft rod. I have gone down to 1.3g with the stock spool and HH air bfs bearings but below that accuracy and control suffers. With the avail spool and custom rod built off a phenix trout blank under 1g is possible, I've gone down to .67g with no backlash but 25-30f...

Re: Morethan 1000xh - Coffee Grinder
You could probably swap a set of steez gears in the meantime to make it feel smooth again while you decide whether to replace the bronze set. I'm not sure how the morethan clicking drag is setup but you may be able to adapt it to the steez gear set.

Re: Ordering from Japan sites ?
JLS usually adds a "gift"to their reel orders as well. All of mine have been Megabass jerkbaits which would have cost me more than the shipping amount anyways. From a shipping perspective, I just got a reel from Digitaka yesterday that was shipped on Monday through DHL. That's 48hrs from when it lef...

What did you use to pull the spacers?

Re: Can you remove the alpha CT70 Spool spacers?
Other than the spacers, the pinion gear and set plate and levelwind wormgear is different on the CT models to accommodate the narrow spool so those would need to be swapped as well.

Re: Need Help, New Spinning Reel
They have the 6.2 ratio USDM models as well. Don't look at just gear ratio but IPT which will account for spool size. Spinning reels have a higher IPT reel due the larger spool. A 5.2 ratio spinning reel can match the IPT of a 7:1+ ratio baitcaster.

Re: BFS Casting Reel
You’ll like the aldebaran. A great caster out of the box, I added the extra magnets that it comes with for a little more control especially in wind. HH air bfs bearings wake up the stock spool and avail, Ktf and now roro make ultra lightweight spools for the reel if you feel the urge to cast under 1g.

Re: BFS Rod Recommendation
If you are after the type of rod that will cast the smallest of lures then the true bfs rods will probably be too much rod. The light and UL powered bfs sticks I've used are in their happy zone in the 2-5g range, with some a bit higher than that. I have a 6'5" UL major craft days bfs rod with my ald...

For the Edge rods only the Silver Widow line uses the x-ray blanks.

Re: 18 Aldebaran 30 MGL (JDM)
They also have a magnetic brake conversion you can use with the avail spools. Its fully adjustable with the stock brake dial and you can add or remove magnets as well.

Re: Daiwa T3 SV 8.1 gear sets?
I’ve never had the t3 Sv but I’ve swapped the 8.1 USDM ballistic gears into a few jdm t3 1016s and t3 mx. The 1016s required me to remove the pinion gear spacers but once done they fit perfectly.

Re: Calcutta 50XT BFS Spool
Wow, I just looked at ebay and that's insane! I bought one of the avail spools back when they were still able to be had new for around 80 bucks, and I sold the complete reel with spool for around $160-170 a couple years later. Upgrading the bearings on the stock spool helped my casting capabilities ...
