Re: Steez to Fuego swap

Shoot man before you do that, why don't you bounce that reel over to Daiwa and see what they say? You may be getting rid of it for no reason. :-k

Re: Open water frog vs. poppers/walkers

Actually I like them both but prefer the popping frogs. I've improved the Spro Dean Rojas Signature Series Bronzeye Popper Frog by removing the leg skirts and replacing them with strips of rabbit fur that I robbed from a jig (a lot like the Deps Buster K). In my opinion it does a great job in open w...

I agree, D & M sure have a couple of real nice chatter baits. I'd love to get a Jackal to compare it to.

Re: Upgrading a Abu Garcia 3600c?

I can see how you may have misunderstood my post to refer to the Eon M3600c Morrum. I was referring to the Abu Garcia 3600c which I believe is a Ambassador reel. Since he didn't refer to the M3600c I didn't believe he was referring to a Morrum. And I never said anything about how easy it was to tune...

Re: Shimano, a company I will no longer support

Beefy you may want to look at St. Croix also, an absolutely incredible warranty program that I'd never have believed possible if I hadn't gotten to experience it twice! No questions asked, shipping covered on returns! Incredible. BTW, very sorry you've had the experiences you've had with G. Loomis, ...

Re: "bulk" mono for spinning reels

Just switch to braid w/ FC leader. I would recommend Suffix Elite TT did a review on it and they sell it in bulk 1k or 3k spools. +1, also use a snap swivel when necessary with spinners and the like, don't reel against the drag when retrieving a fish, and don't over fill your spool. Best braid for ...

Re: Deep Diving Cranks and Short Casts-- need advice

Some methods that have helped me, alot! Larger diameter lines will reduce casting distance, smaller diameter lines will increase casting distance. Try using heavier cranks also, if your using 1/2 oz. try a a 3/4 oz. crank. Fluorocarbon will increase depth of cranks, mono and braid will decrease dept...

Re: When choosing Daiwa tuning spools

http://www.japantackle.com/Tuning_parts/tuning_spools_daiwa.htm So I have some questions. What are the differences between these spools other than the obvious. What makes one better than the other, and what does each spool excel at? I'm looking to upgrade Zillion / T3 platforms, but not sure what d...

Re: Need help with my Gen 2 STX

They look rather blurry and hard to identify but from what I can tell they look like they may be the antireverse bearing and collar (fits over the bearing I believe). Item 80 in the PDF. Can you locate those parts on your schematic and match them up?

Re: T3 SV 8.1R-TW Initial Thoughts

I meant to say 'someone' and not me. Just found it on YouTube. He casts around 72 to 78 meter with an 18 gram plug - or so - on a 7'8 MH MC Volkey. First number is with 0.15 mm PP braid and second Mono line of some sort. Wow, that's impressive. With the bend in his rod I'd assumed it was greater th...
