Re: Livingston Lures -- What has been your experience

I have a couple of Jerkbaits by them. Never caught a thing. I did get a mess of white bass on the yellow and craw colored square bill. I also caught a mess of fish on my SK and Spro square bills that same day. I'm not sold.

Re: Why does Shimano not produce a budget 50 size reel?

They also dont make a $100 reel with a metal frame. Go figure that one out. One of the largest markets out there is the $100 price point. Back in the D series day, they did make a Citica100D, and its a very sought after reel to this day. Even back then it was not really considered "budget". I...

Re: Tricking out an SV103

I was one of those that bought one while in Bama. Here are a couple of pictures from mine. I did a black out look for it. I sold it though. I kinda regret it, but I can never get used to the Daiwa reels. Black Bumpers Black Nut plate Type R CF Handle MB Knobs CarbonTex Drag ZR Spool Bearings Bearing...

I just traded my last Met MGL off today. I'll probably regret it later.

Why you trading them?
Ive been buying Shimano Cores. Recently sourced a NIB 100MG7. Just love the Core/Met 09 style more.

Re: Shimano Curado 200K is available for preorder now

Crap.......should I order one??? I want one and have the money right now but...but  I don't need it but want it For what it's worth, since the E series, I personally don't feel Shimano has given much effort to the Curado. Hell, in their video announcing the new K series, they left the G out. I...

Re: New Curado 200/201K

The K has micro module gears which are different dimensions. One thing I noticed is the K gear case looks much different than the I. The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking not. Keep in mind Rock, the body is advertised as 10% smaller, which is probably why we can't fit other gears in it.....

Re: New Curado 200/201K

The gear sets between the K models will swap, but gears from the I will not work in the K. The K has micro module gears which are different dimensions. Good point. I forgot Shimano put the Micro in the K. What if you did both the pinion and main gear swap? One thing I noticed is the K gear case loo...

Re: New Curado 200/201K

Maybe us 5:1 guys are a dying breed, but I love a good slow reel. Honestly, I fish my Cavitron buzzbaits with a 201E5. The 5 speed gives the bait a different sound that a higher speed 7:1 reel. I also get a different bubble trail as well. I'm wondering if the gear sets will interchange. I priced al...

CH MGL on a Loomis E6x

I've been wanting to try both of these for a little while now. Went with the XG and the 853c MBR. Added a bearing to the worm drive, two to the knobs, replaced the knob caps with Met 2013 knob caps and changed out the two 8x12x3.5 bearings. https://www.dropbox.com/s/0dyp4a7kazsbt6z/Photo%20Jul%2015%...

Re: Drop shot

The NRX has an Extra fast tip. GLX 842 MBR has a fast tip. Much slower than the NRX. It's going to feel less stiff being it's a slower loading tip. I run all my finesse, including drop shot, on a GLX JWR 852 casting rod. I like the faster tip but I prefer the look of the MBR handle. Super light drop...
