I fish for Red fish, trout, and other warm water salt species. They range from palm sized fish to 30+ pounders.I use clousers, shrimp, crab patterns and poppers.

The two reels you mentioned should be great. I have an Okuma Epixor 50 spooled with Power Pro 30# line.It will cast a 2 oz weight a long long way.100 yards +

Does any one have an opinion on the rapala lock and weigh?It is simular to the boga grip but cheaper.Just by looking at it it looks like it might be a little harder to get on the fishes mouth.

I fish the surf at the very bottom end of Texas, South padre Island.There are a vast # of fish to be caught there.Tarpon, Reds, Speckled Trout, Whiting, Rays,Shark, Jacl Crevalle, black Drum, Spanish and King Macs and an occational tuna.I also fish the bays in this area.

I have two okuma Integrity reels. One I use for flats fishing and a 10/11 used for surf fishing.They are very good reels for the money.As good a drag as I have ever used.Just like any reel they need washing well after saltwater use. As for a rod I will make a few suggestiond.Shakespear Uglistik,Tica, Tsunami,Bass Pro Ocean Master rods are all great surf rods.I prefere 10 to 12 footers. Now for the reels. Okuma makes several good spinning reels for the job,Epixor, Azul etc. in the 80 an 90 series.Bait casters work well to. Penns...
