Re: Long distance spool for sv103

Anyone done a comparison on the ZPI Pg vs the SLP g1 SV 1012 or 1016? I compared ZPI NRC M and stock Steez G1 1016 SV spool. ZPI casts really great! Brakes wise, with SV spool I could use it on 6-7 on MAG dial, with ZPI had to go up to 11-12 using same baits. Line -14lb Sunline Sniper ZPI obviously...

Re: Favourite frogging + topwater reel?

OG Zillion Type R's & J dream 7.9's are what I use. Both running Ize HLC spools. Both perform flawlessly.
(For smaller 1/4oz topwaters I run alphas platform reels).

Re: Retro style rod

Abu looks great on that old loomis!

Also, if you haven't seen em, Hedgehog studios carries some cool parts for those old abu's- from Haneda craft, kahara, iOS factory, etc

Re: Frog rod

That daiwa sounds like it should work. It also depends a lot on where you're fishing. Where are you located? Guys in say the northeast don't need the same caliber frog rod that say someone fishing on the California delta does. And delta fishermen aren't going to need as much rod as a frog fishermen ...

Buying rods thru buyee/yahoo jp

Has anyone ever bought a rod through buyee/yahoo jp? It troubles me that I can't send a message to the original seller asking him to package it for international shipping, and I don't know how well buyee packs rods. Would love to hear anyone's experiences doing it. Also, one of the purchases I was c...

Re: Rod for Bantam (MH)

Tackletrap still has the megabass xx tour versatile in stock, on clearance for $199... Could also keep an eye on the classifieds or make a post asking for a specific rod(emtf might fit your criteria better?). With the new models coming out soon, I'm sure a few folks will be unloading their older mod...

Re: Bantam MGL Who has their hands on one?

To compete against this reel, Daiwa should release the Z1016 already. Like come the F on  Everyone been waiting for soon to be a decade................. Yep! Write customer service letters to daiwa Japan asking for it. They'll chastise you(very kindly of course :D ) for using it, saying that ...

Re: Have top water rods changed?

It definitely has changed. Never thought about it being due to lighter blanks but I guess thats valid. Although... I think people just use the longer rods for more distance. Also, rods are higher modulus than ever before, and in general higher modulus rods don't load up and cast as far as the lower ...

Re: New (Burgundy) jdm steez A!

@12:30, it's running the SLP rcsb 1012 spool. Spool specs on HH studios says that it's only for T3 & ryoga 1016. Dunno if I've ever seen one in a steez before... guess these can fit in the newer steez T-wings? Just kinda seems like an odd choice, being such an old spool and with all the newer aweso...
