I have the same rod, but I bought it through temple fork. It’s my first finesse casting rod. What reel are you putting on it?

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

When I was really young I loved throwing micro baits because I’d always catch fish anywhere I went. The wee craw and little rooster tails were my favorite, I’ve caught lots of small Kentucky bass in OK on the craw. Norman has a baby deep little n that is nice, it’s 1/4 oz. Stanley had some small spi...

Re: Edge inshore 6'6" light

I’ve also bought 4 Temple Fork rods from them and I like them all a lot. 2 crankin rods. A 7’6” ml spin rod I use for hair jigs and a musky rod. I think I got a Villain gen1 7’3” heavy from them too, which is a sweet rod. It’s one of the sites that I’ve got my best deals from. It takes a lot of chec...

Re: Edge inshore 6'6" light

I got a Fast Strike 7’6 xh from Sierra Trading and like it a lot, but the 3rd eye from the top was obviously replaced with a guide that is slightly smaller than the original. I’m guessing Sierra Trading got it like that from Edge and It was a returned rod that damaged in shipping. I keep hoping that...

Re: Wacky Worm Rigging Question ?

I bought some vinyl tubing for my 5” senkos, but haven’t had a chance to test it yet. I’ve read that it will make one Senko last for several trips. It’s definitely heavy duty stuff. For 6” and 7” I would not use o-rings, they’re so heavy that the o-ring will tear it in half. Haven’t had a chance to ...

Re: Skirt tieing, advice and opinions

You need to have the skirt held in place with an o-ring or skirt collar

Re: Skirt tieing, advice and opinions

Look up a YouTube channel called “smalljaw”, the guy has a good video on using wire. 24-26 gauge wire from the plastic flower section of a hobby shop. Put the jig in a vice, take a 3” inch piece of wire, make 3 wraps around the skirt, use pliers to pull the wire ends to get the wraps tight - you sho...

Re: Best knobs for Lew’s Handle

Never mind, my gen 1 stx knobs fit. I was pretty sure I used Winch knobs on a Tatula handle but I must have just used the whole winch handle.

Re: Best knobs for Lew’s Handle

I have some Lew’s carbon fiber handles that I have mounted on my Daiwas. When I bought them I thought that I could put my Daiwa SV103 knobs on the Lew’s, but the hole is too small on the knob. I have a Shimano knob that fits, but not sure if I’d like any of their knobs. The Lew’s knobs are way too ...

Re: Needing help choosing components

Thanks for responses, it’s helping me narrow down my browsing. Having trouble finding spacing charts for guide placement. Do I need guides of multiple sizes that taper down to my smallest guide?

Needing help choosing components

I have 4 NFC Delta blanks I need to build before MN opener and I’d like some recommendations on the components before I start. The only part I am considering using right now are the Fuji ACS reel seats. I want to be as thrifty as possible since these aren’t HM blanks. I have 1 cranking rod and the o...

Re: rattle trap reel

I use 8.1:1 T3 SV because I like burning 1/2 oz lipless baits over shallow grass. It’s also a good gearing for rippin them off the bottom in deeper water. Same ratio and techniques I use for swim jigs. I switch between the two depending on the conditions.

Re: Swimming Senko

I like them on 3/8 oz swim jigs. I use the next size up too. Yamamoto makes a jig head specifically for the swim senko, but the ones I’ve used have super crappy hooks even though they’re gamakatsu. They’re also great Texas rigged with a pegged weight. No wrong way to fish them. Great lure for Any be...
