Re: The longest cast.....
shtuka carp gears their poles are usually 15' long I 've even heard of ones where it was up to 25' so imagine casting that, it gets pretty heavy.. Though however I feel I would have a great time casting those carp gears. The guides on casting surf gear are relatively small compared to their spinning...

Re: Surf fishing in Pacifica area?
Hmm, I never heard of mussel rock. Right now its great time for stripers in the pacific their making a run. There really is no time of tide some people say its better when tide is slack. I dont think tide makes a difference. Just look for white water or birds. Gear get yourself a 11' or 12' surf rod...

Re: Modifying 1-piece casting rod to 2-piece (non-interline)
sdfd504, yeah ur 100% right. Trey was nice enough to convent the 1 piece helium I wanted to a 2 piece helium. Transportation issues I prefer 2 pieces, if I do get a truck later everything will be a 1 piece. Not because of performance, to me they preform just as good as a 1 piece if you buy a well bu...

Your talking about $15 a pound for geoducks or cockles? If its the geoducks those use to be much cheaper back in the days.

Clamming & Crabbing (June 30 th)
We drove 3 hours up to bodega bay in santa rosa. Arrived there around 9 in the morning. Did some sight seeing I was impressed. Seems like I was at yosemite. Re: clamming report (saturday, 6/25)
Sweet "quick limits" lol I was just there the other week with a lower tide (-2.1) than the one you had and we couldn't even catch a single geoduck. We simply couldn't dig fast enough errr. It just comes to show how much experience and skills you've had clamming.

Daiwa SealineX HSV50 review
Zander, that was one awesome review. Even the though the sealine-X family reels were released years ago, and the new addition to the upgradable "Grandwave Z". The sealine-X is still one of the most popular reels used on the beach. I really see no difference between the "NEW" $199 grandwave Z and the...
