Re: Best Lucky Craft color for clear water?
Great. I went by the tackleshop and looked at the Ghost Minnow. It has a faint beige head and translucent body. I can see that the American shad looks like a shiner but what does the Ghost Minnow look like, what type of minnow?

Best Lucky Craft color for clear water?
Hi, I'm buying another couple Lucky Crafts and was wondering if the American Shad color always outproduces Ghost Minnow or MJ Herring color. Never tried the Herring yet. Anyone try it? Looks like the American Shad but lighter blue and no reddish tone. Also, a lot of pros use Ghost Minnow for clear w...

Re: quantum energy pti
As NJ salt angler mentioned, Watch out for the Quantum anti-reverse. There was a major recall 2 years ago due to failing anti-reverse on their reels. Some of the newer reels are having the same problem.

Re: First Casting Reel - HELP
I just helped two more buddies learn how to baitcast. Now they love casting more than spinning. First buy a reel with anti-backlash technology. The best anti-backlash systems on the market today is the Magforce V and Z by Daiwa. Both buddies tried learning by themselves with Shimano and Abu reels bu...

Re: Which Lucky Craft?
Well I couldn't resist and ended up getting an RC1.5 (based on KoYak's advice) and a Pointer 78 for myself. My bro got a Slender Pointer 112 and Live Pointer. Guess the addiction is just starting for my bro and is getting worse for myself. I was looking at the LV-500 max but will hold off til I hear...

Re: Which Lucky Craft?
Thanks for the help guys. Well it looks like I'm down to the Pointer and Slender Pointer. Wish there were videos showing their action. The Pointer 65, 78, 100 have great track records but the Slender Pointer has three trebles and supposedly has a better action. But there doesn't seem to be many ppl ...

Powerpro vs. Stren SuperBraid
I have always used Powerpro but today I spoke to a guy at BPS, who told me that Stren Superbraid was better. Casts farther, less digging into the spool, retains its coating longer, and is composed of 8 spectra fibers vs. 4 for Powerpro.
Has anyone tried Stren Superbraid?

Which Lucky Craft?
I'm thinking of buying my brother his first Lucky Craft lure and can't decide which one. He mainly fishes freshwater lakes for smallies. He's not as addicted as I am to fishing so he requires easy high producing lures. Any suggestions? So far, I'm looking at a Pointer vs. Slender Pointer vs. Live Po...

Re: Carp fishing tips
I agree with KY. No need for hi-tech buzzers and other stuff. Usually I use 8-10lb mono with about 1-2oz weights (depending on how far you need to cast) with a hair rig setup. Sometimes I'll attach a ball of corn flour, strawberry jello, and oatmeal just above the hook. Then hold on to your rod beca...

Re: Choosing between a Shimano Calcutta and an Abass. C3 or
i've have a C3, Calcutta CT, Daiwa CVZ, and a Calcutta TE. Calcutta CT is definitely worth the money over a C3 and a CVZ beats all of them hands down. Save up for a CVZ and you'll never have to regret anything. I regret the C3, and both Calcutta purchases. I wish I spent the money on another CVZ.

I love those fish. Great fighters and huge...what more can u ask for. Congrats on a memory that will last a lifetime.
That fish is like 5'9". Almost as tall as you are. Definitely a nice fish esp from shore. I've gotta join you one of these days.

Re: Grippers
I've looked into the Boga, Rapala, and Berkley myself. The Boga is great but expensive and a bit short I find. The Rapalas look good but I find isn't that practical since it requires the mouth to be open because of its very thick jaws, unless you are only going to use it on the net. A lot of pike I'...
