Re: Small Swimbait Rod Choice
Go to a shop and handle them all to see which feels best in your hands. It’s hard to find a shop in NE Georgia that stocks any swimbait sticks, hence the reason for this request. Tackle Trap would be the closest one, it’s abour 4 hrs away. Easily sorted. Speak to Tackle Trap about local lakes, visi...

Re: What up with the ugly rods?
People like what they like. Personally, I like the St. Croix Legend series rods. Color, handle, and all. All I own are Legend Torunaments and Avids. Both great looking, top quality rods. I’ll pull the trigger on a couple of Legend Elites in the near future. And they’re made in the USA. To each his ...

Re: What up with the ugly rods?
The top of the line St Croix are ugly colours with terrible handles. Got to be marketing to make them distinctive on the shelf. If they were all a nice simple black with a well thought out handle, then they wouldn't stand out, no matter how much I might prefer them! And that's why I fish the ...

Re: Small Swimbait Rod Choice
if you're open to the idea of a custom built rod take a look at building one on a Phenix X-13 blank. I use mine for the exact same size of baits you're looking to throw. good luck on your decision making, lets us know what you ended up with Looking to build on this blank to use for 10xds as smaller...

Re: CF handle color?
It's possible to make one of any color you want. Get a piece and cut a handle It will not be swept. Seen a few guys make 1/12 scale rc parts with cf blank material and a router. They said it took some practice and sharp high quality bits. http://dragonplate.com/mobile/categories.asp?cID=228 This web...

Re: How many rods?
I have three rods with me most times but my son is using the spinning rod. He gets bored after a while and I can add that to the rotation If I need to. I run a medium xfast casting and mhf casting in the back. Covers what I need so I am good with 3. Rotate out other selections If I feel I want to.

That should work great... I love to throw a Huddleston grass minnow on mine and it's great for that. Very versatile and sensitive blank imo.

Re: Line guide replacement
There are some amazing people out there building rods and doing great repairs. There are not any in Memphis TN that will touch my rods. Seems like the northern states have a lot of skilled guys and along the coasts. Look at a few samples of their work to know what your getting into.

Re: St Croix 68mxf vs 610mxf?
I have the 610mxf sc5 and have talked direct to the engineering department. They are missing marked and good to 5/8ths. They are releasing a tech update to correct the issue. I kept calling until they gave up and let me talk to the guys in the back. The sales guys ate retards and really only know th...
