Has anyone here tried and succeeded in switching Tatula handles on to a TDZ? I love the handles on the Tat but not that keen on the reel for bass. I love my TDZs and would love to switch but it looks daunting.
Thanks

Re: 10 foot rods
I use Steelhead rods and catch Bass with them frequently. Generally I'm looking for Steelhead or Lakers at the time but smallies still tug even if the rod is 9'6" long. A TV host up here named Charlie Wray (Fishfull Thinking)uses steelhead spin rods when dragging tubes on Lake Erie for smallmouth ba...

Re: Square Bill Suggestion
I did well this year with a squarebill Rapala Clackin Rap (as opposed to a Crankin Rap, differnt bait). I love Bagleys, Sissons as well but the Rapala is super dureable where the balsa lures go out of tune all the time, so much so that somtimes all the line tie twisting in the world will not bring t...

Re: Lucky Craft Classical Leader 55SSR Crankbait
I have both the Bevy crank, very small bait, and the Classic Leader. The Leader is a very nice , classic plastic bait similar in the SSR to a Rapala Fat Rap SSR. There is also a shallow and deep diving version of the Classic plus a bone plastic version that's quite pricey. The Bevy crank comes in a ...

Re: single hooks on cranks
I use single hooks a great deal and one way to effectively get the hooks lined up is to just cut an appropriatly sized treble hook down from 3 tynes to a single tyne that is facing up on the back and forward on the front. I also frequently remove the belly hook on 2 hook baits and the middle bottom ...

Re: A classic returns
They used to be known as Emperor Minnows. I just bought 2 new old stock ones for $2.00 each. Mine are sinkers

Re: Solid body paddle tail swimbaits
I'm very interested in this subject since I just started throwing soft swimbaits this year. I've done well with Swammers from Xzone. Dureable ribbed style baits that seem best in vegetation. Yamamoto swimsenkos and Yum swimdingers worked great when i started throwing swimbbaits but seem to have drop...

Re: Jackall Squirrel Discontinued
They have a new diving stickbait that looks similar to a Bevy Shad that I would wager is another great Jackal product. Their stuff is overall the best hardbait product made (take that MegaBass)

Re: Bagley cranks?
The Alex lures that I have are from Europe (sold in the USA as Bagley Sunny B and Balsa Shad) and have great paint jobs. The Brown and Rainbow Trout color in the original Alex lure is particularly good. They're essentially Euro colors but they work. They are very durable too. Here's a link to all th...

Re: Jackall Squirrel Discontinued
I'll take the unwanted ones but not for Bass. They are killer Salmon lures.

Re: Bagley cranks?
I love the Bagley cranks including the new versions, the Balsa Shad and Sunny B, which are actually Alex lures from Europe (Serbia I believe, designed by the designer of Ugly Ducklings) BUT of late the crank that I'm slaying them with is the small Salmo Hornet shallow diver. This bait is made from s...

Re: New lures your looking forward to using?
Like an X Rap this resembles a Jackal Squad115 /Smash100 minnow hybrid. Also looks like a number of other sticks from Japan. Strike King etc. Seems like very nice colour patterns (but no Canadian only Sucker pattern http://rapala.ca/products/rapala-live-series-live-sucker )and it's only $8.99 which ...

Re: help identifying wiggle warts
You can generally tell from the colour patterns. The post Rapala ones have a more realistic (but not better) colour pattern that looks computer generated versus a more hand painted appearance of pre Rapala Warts.

Re: help identifying wiggle warts
They are Midwarts and they are actually an old and, I think, discontinued bait. They are post Rapala Storms and they came out with a super deep regular sized Wiggle Wart version as well. The deep diver has a lip very similar to a Mag Wart's but on a smaller body. Goes deep and catches fish while the...
