Re: Phenix Adds to their Heavy Powered Arsenal : The M1 MX72

I can assure you they can deadlift a lot more, I've lifted 8kg (17.6lb) Barramundi (Asian Sea Perch) with the lightest of the M1s, the MX-692ML and have set hooks as hard as I could with 30lb PE + 40lb FC leader with no probs. drove a 5/0H wide gap through top palates of 90cm fish with it. Its durab...

Is this happening to anyone else? I really hope TT doesn't get attacked again.

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

I liked the LT more than the LTX. Got LTZ AE-74 on the way here. Will do a proper review like I did with the Exsence.

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

From my experience, and tests(actual casting tests), the free spool times are inconclusive in actual casting distance/ease. And from my experience, and others... a Shimano is much easier to set and cast than any Daiwa (and by all means, each time we've put them head to head... Shimano outcast Daiwa...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

I don't think the editor's note at the bottom is gonna cut it. Well that's all yer gettin' until part 2... that's what part 2 is for afterall ;) Hey Cal, I've done worse, with my first posted review http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=49170 I decided to test out the Exsence DCs ni...

Re: latest reel comparison

Lol I can't believe Cal didnt know where the cast control knob was  (To be fair, I probably would've started wrenching on it too. Or read the instructions first :D ). The cast control knob under that bar wouldn't bother me as much as the fact that it's on the palming side. Having to change han...

Re: Bait the Finesse?!? Shimano -v- Daiwa Product Insight

Funny. My BFS spool weighs 9 grams. As does my other Yumeya spool in my Core. As does japantackle and other websites. Now, I believe a stock Core is around 11 grams. My out of box free spool was much longer than 3 seconds. You also neglected to point out all the disclaimers around the T3 Air and li...

Re: Five Seconds and More with Quantum's EXO PT

Very good review Cal. I do think people shy away from Quantum's in general due to past experiences. They usually take a more controlled thumb to cast far without backlashes. The made in China doesn't help for a lot of the users of this site. I probable have 80% Quantum reels due to their affordabil...

Re: Five Seconds and More with Quantum's EXO PT

What surprised me was the tested drag pressure. 6lb is quite a bit less than the advertise output of 15lb. The smoke reels were quite close at 14.2 and only .3 ounces heavier. Must be similar to 5lbhookers QTM reel experience where the wrong lubricants are used. Hey 5#, that's where ur energies hot ...
