Re: New Chronarch Video
I had my chronarch mgl out today, started out with 4 brakes on and the dial on 1 just to let the line settle in, overrun on the first cast. Throwing a pointer 78. 12 lb flouro spooled straight from my scorpion. Turned the dial all the way to 6 and the distance was not anything to get excited over. ...

It does. It takes a 4x7x2.5 just like the Met and Alde https://image.ibb.co/iJr5Dv/IMG_1501.jpg free png file Any chance that's the reel Gary had you super tune for me and he shipped out yesterday? =D> Not this one Kevin. Your handle is on the other side. I realized that about 30 min after I posted...

Two thumbs up for Gary, he's the best. Not many places or people left who provide the kind of knowledge and support to customers that he does so willingly.

Re: Need an all around Megabass crank rod
I have used my XX Spinnerbait Special for all if that except maybe 10-12 ft cranks, but I think the rod would handle them. You're looking for a compromise rod that's versatile so as long as you can accept some weaknesses I think the SS would work. I like it a lot and as a bonus it's very versatile a...

Re: Help with all-purpose rod
I ended up with the SS because I at times can only take a few rods out in the boat. I wanted something that could throw jigs, creatures, worms, spinner baits when needed and also handle squarebills, jerkbaits, top waters, lipless. Because of my size constraint Gary steered me to either the Jerkbait ...

Re: Help with all-purpose rod
First I'd agree with contacting Gary at The Tackle Trap if you're serious about an Orochi. Super nice guy and very knowledgeable he'd get you in the right rod. I'd also throw out the Spinnerbait Special, it's the same power as the EMTF but shorter with a med fast taper. I got one bc I can't transpor...

Re: Disappointed with my dx702 experience
Where about in NJ do you guys live? I live in Morris county and fish Lake Hopatcong but in the summer that lake is hectic. Never caught anything bigger than 5.7lbs out of that lake but they found a dead 10 pounder I think last spring. I don't live in new Jersey anymore. I did fish Round Valley many...

Re: Good multi-purpose baitcaster
You've gotten some good feedback so far with great options. A few thoughts if mine would be to look for a rod that is a bit softer for multi purpose. You have to set the hook a bit harder with jigs, but it will offer you more forgiveness with moving baits. I think a St Croix Avid series in a M/F is ...

Shout out for The Tackle Trap and Gary
All I know that The Tackle Trap already has a pretty awesome reputation here as does Gary. But I really want to high light a recent experience I've had with Gary that I think everyone here will appreciate. For Christmas my wife purchased a rod for me from The Tackle Trap which I had selected. Unfort...

Re: New shimano chronarch possibility?
Does anyone else see an issue with that picture of the palming side plate of the new Curado? Where's the external adjustment dial for the SVS system? It's that little dial on the underside, but please try to keep this on topic. Oh, and welcome to the forum! Does the Chronarch ci4+ have metal flake ...

Re: Spinning reel options
Hi all, I've been reading the forum a lot but not posted. Just thought I'd let the op know to check out the new Cabelas Verano spinning reel if they're looking for a Daiwa. It's engineered/made by Daiwa for Cabelas. Looks like a Ballistic in a different paint job with more bearings for 50 bucks less...
