Re: 3rd generation Recon on the horizon?

Friend has a couple recon elites already and they look sweet! They got rid of the carbon locking nut, which came undone multiple times on the recon 2 for me. A good upgrade,

Re: Jackall poison Adrena 7'4 XH question

This rod is sickkk!!! I'm a huge fan of the poison adrena line and the swimbait rod does not dissapoint. I feel as though it may be a med-fast or fast action rod. It can handle up to 3.5 oz fine. It would be good for frogging and punching as well. Versatile rods, these adrena rods! Although I don't ...

Re: Steez SV TW. no clicking tension knob?????

The only time I find the spring a little bit of a pain is when I'm disassembling and reassembling my reels for maintenance. Otherwise, I never think about it. Yesss! I agree with this! Took me a while the first 50 times I worked on my reels. Now it's alot easier as I know the approximate angle of t...

Re: Jackall poison Adrena 7'4 XH question

Mine should be coming in tomorrow. This rod is by far the best deal twh 25 days of deals has offered. Otherwise it was crap. I'll be tossing around 2oz baits like the gancraft 178 jointed claw, and a deep diving jerkbait-duo realis fangbait

Re: MGL spool in saltwater

had rust in my spool tension knob side bearing after 3 outings. But also found a good amount of water because I leaned the reel on the handle so as not to scratch the reel. Fixed it up and have not leaned it on the side again and have not had any problems. Im using Zpi sic bearings now, so that may ...

Re: Envy Black or Kistler Helium

check out the shimano zodias rods. They have fast and med fast action. Great rod for the price imho. Also, dobyns champion rods are on sale on some online retailers, shimano rods are on sale at twh right now, etc etc.

Re: Envy Black or Kistler Helium

Why use a exfast for crankbaits? If you want versatility go with a med-fast or fast action rod

Re: Metanium MGL vs. Chronarch Ci4+

As frank said the mgl can throw a wider range of baits. It is a great reel and your adrena deserves the mgl. Use mgl's on all my adrenas except one which I have a conquest on. Honestly if you have an mgl you have no reason to look for another reel for a while.

Re: Mgl spool question

Or get the jdm version with shallower spool for lighter baits and have a spool of the deeper US spool for more capacity as a spare spool. Of course you would have to buy a sv remover tool and /or a brake assembly

Re: 2017 Shimano (Bassmaster Classic releases)

Maybe bringing the aldebaran bfs to the states. I expect more rod updates than reel updates. I see the benefits of a aluminum mgl, but with their electroplated magnesium reels that are okay for saltwater, don't see why they would go aluminum... unless hagane is a hoax haha

Re: Metanium MGL- Play in handle?

I recognized the play after doing routine maintenance on my mgl. Without the black shim that screws onto the handle, there is play in the handle.

Re: Conquest 101 HG

I have the same cut on mine :) I use mine with a medium light or medium power rod. Use it for plastic swimbaits and crankbaits. The IPT is like 23 inches so I prefer faster IPT reels for jigs, topwater, etc. Castability is not an issue, its just the IPT

Re: Aldebaran brakes and sideplate

I had this exact same problem!!! Nowhere does it state to turn the plate....

So yeah just press the lever in the back to open. Then turn the side plate (clockwise/fronts side down) and it should pop off ;)
