Re: No more core 100/chron D bodies from Shimano.

More rumors  I know Dan from Reel Ex very well and he knows better. I will be calling him tonight...Dan knows a lot, but he does not always know our product plans. He will get that reminder around 4pm today. The CH-D has been gone for a couple of years, and is not coming back. The Core is in ...

Re: New shimano ci4?

Was talking to my local Shimano rep and was told that this year at icast a new Ci4 with X-ship will be released, and also a Chronarch Ci4, which is going to be priced in right around $280 Both with x-ship, Chronarch Ci4 with same drag star as Calcutta d. Both look awesome. Can't wait to get them! D...

Stradic CI4 2500 vs Patriarch 9530x

The Shimano Stradic CI4 2500f and the Pflueger Patriarch 9530x spinning reels are about the same size and are in the same price range. Any thoughts on these reels? Anyone have both? TT did a review on both of these reels awhile back and they have been out for awhile, so there should be some more "on...

Yo Zuri Hybrid Ultra Soft

I have used Trilene XL for quite awhile. I just picked up a spool of 6# Yo Zuri Hybrid ultra soft. I use 6# for spinning. It seems to me that the ultra soft has a bit more stretch in it verses the Trilene XL. Yes, no, maybe?

Re: St.Croix, GLoomis question

If you have one of each then you should be able and tell, no? ;) ... Generally speaking the St. Croix sticks behave more stoutly than a G.Loomis of the same lure weight rating. Yes I do have both sticks. I was just wondering if this is the norm between St. Croix and GLoomis. Thanks for your comments.

St.Croix, GLoomis question

I think I read somewhere that comparing a Loomis to a Croix, that a med. GLoomis is comparable to a med. light St.Croix or the other way around. Yes, no, maybe? I have a 6'6" Avid med. and I just got a GLoomis 6'6" GL3 med. and they are different when it comes to flex.

Re: rods / reels - a fashion industry?

Most of my stuff is in the black to gray-ish color. So they all pretty well go together. Why, because some of the rod and reel colors just do not pass my "I like it" test. Rods and reels in white, gold, red, silver, etc. just do not make it for me. Part of my day on the water is enjoying my equipmen...

Re: Weight factor

There is an undoubted shift in the direction of lighter and lighter reels. I doubt that anyone would debate that. What I would like to know is why? Nobody really wants a reel that is any heavier than it has to be but when you look at reels like the Penn Spin fisher that you can drive nails with sti...

Re: Kudo's to Pflueger/Pure Fishing

I bought two Pflueger 9530 spinning reels recently. One was fine, but the other had a little excess spool wobble under load. Called Pflueger and they said send it in. Exactly a week later, a brand new one is in hand. I've not had to work with them often over the years, but everytime I do, it's a gr...

If I could find a great price on a NIB Shimano Stradic CI4 2500, that would be my next reel.
