Re: Ice rods
I forgot to add that tape is the best way to keep these rods light as possible. Look into rescue tape or self adhesive silicone tape which sticks to itself and not to cork or the reels seat.
Re: Ice rods
Look into tuned up custom ice rods as well as Thorne Bros customs. I like the Tuned up customs for non spring bobber rods and Thorne tripwire series for spring bobber panfish and light walleye applications. These two offer top of the line offerings with custom tapered blanks. PM me if you have any s...

Re: ish frog rod vs omori pitching stick
I handled both at a local shop yesterday. The pitching rod had a heavier tip power and a more moderate action while the frog rod was faster with a little lighter tip.

Re: ish frog rod vs omori pitching stick
I'm interested in this as well. I was looking into both these rods for a texas rig pitching rod. Ive handled the frog rod but the Omori rod was not available in the shop I was at to compare.

Re: Tatula Elite (non AGS) vs. Cronos spinning
I have the cronos 7'6" m/ml ST with the solid tip for a hair jig rod. It's plenty sensitive for doing that. I have been told the solid tip is fragile and can't take abuse in rod lockers but I have not had an issue as of yet.

Re: reins ring craw
Great bait and one of my cold water go to trailers.I run them on both a football head and standard casting jig. In warmer water I prefer a chigger craw or paca craw when I want more action but in cold water the ring craw rules.

Re: Trout baits?
In the upper Midwest roostertail spinners, kastmaster spoons and little Cleo spoons are all you typically need. The 1/16 oz roostertail in black/ silver or skunk is hard to beat for a spinner. Kastmaster in 1/12-1/8 chrome and gold seem to be best. Last if there are larger trout stocked the little Cl...

Re: Anyone with experience with Daiwa cronos spinning rods?
I have the extra fast model as well. It has a megatop style tip on the extra fast model. I would not choose that model as a dedicated float n fly model. It has a very light and very fast tip which makes it excell at throwing light baits and it works pretty good for drop shotting as well. I would wan...
