Sinker stops for 6/7/8lb sniper?

I love pegging my weights with sinker stops but I've yet to find one that doesnt slide when used with 8lb and lighter sniper. The best I've used are the VMC small size, but they still slide a decent amount. Anyone have a sinker stop with a real snug fit that they like using?

Re: What's your Dark Sleeper rod?

Picked up an NRX 894c from another member last week and put some time in on it with the Dark Sleepers a buddy talked me into buying recently. Throwing the 3/8oz 3inch sleeper, I felt the rod handled the bait perfectly and I was super happy with the sensitivity of the rod for feeling the structure in...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

I was able to spend quality time with the NRX+ 821s NRR (ned rig rod) the last two weeks. So thankful Gloomis made this rod! If you love fishing a Ned rig as much as I do you will love this rod. Very sensitive rod as expected with NRX. The rod has a perfect light tip that transitions to a solid bac...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

Looking forward to reading reviews on the 821s NRR and 903c MBR. Those are the main 2 on my radar. After a lifetime of hating spinning gear, I've kinda been enjoying it lately, trying to do everything under the sun on my 822 SYR. Kinda want an all around rod. But one specifically for ned rigs and 1/...

Re: Quality UL Underspins?

Todd - I did see some of those 1/16 baits on Lure Parts and I may grab a few of those in the meantime as they are the best looking ones I've seen to hit that mark. Do note that the 1/16 underspins on Lure Parts (at least when I last looked) are only available with #2 or maybe #4 hooks. #4 will work...

Re: Quality UL Underspins?

Road Runners are the easiest option. The regular ones go down to 1/32oz and the pro 2.0 go down to 1/16oz. Hooks on the regular ones are pretty bad and need to be sharpened. Hooks on the pro 2.0 ones are good but there is a lead collar that I'd cut off and glue baits on instead. If you are a precise...

Re: JDM rod similar to TSR 801-2?

Preordered the Bellezza Prototype 612 but just got an email that the expected release date has moved from June 30 to February 2022. Covid related problems I imagine. Guess I'm on the search for something else now. Wonder if there's any chance that it will end up releasing anywhere near the initial e...

Re: 2021 Shimano Reels

Welp, it might finally happen. I've wanted a Conquest since I first saw one as a high schooler that couldn't even dream of being able to afford it. Missed a few good deals on the previous 100HG here and on another forum over the past few years. Don't know if I'll be able to resist this time. Been ab...

Re: Fenwick Golden Wing series fishing rod?

Haven't heard these rods mentioned in a long time. I was fairly young when these came out, but they're the rods my dad and I got into bass fishing with. He got Fenwick/Pure Fishing stuff at wholesale so that's largely what we used. I couldn't tell you all the details on Golden Wing rods, but as I re...

Re: JDM rod similar to TSR 801-2?

The TSR801-2 is only 6'8" guys :) Looking for something roughly that length, though I'm not opposed to something as short as 6'. Took the TSR with me today rigged with a 1/16oz road runner and 2" Kalin's grub to the place I've been fishing for bass since I caught an exceptional crappie on my last tr...

Re: Spinning rod for throwing LC Pointer 78?

I've been so impressed by what my NRX 842c has been able to handle in the years I've had it. I wish there was like an 842.5c, but I really can't imagine a rod that I feel comfortable fishing so many things with as I do the 842. There is, it's called the Phenix K2 714C :D (Well, it's an inch longer,...

Re: Spinning rod for throwing LC Pointer 78?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I now have way too many rods that I want! The guy that hates spinning gear is looking seriously at numerous high end spinning sticks now  I use my Conquest 842c for all jerkbaits between 1/4-1/2oz. Throw the shallow Pointer 78 a lot. Sounds like NRX might be...

Spinning rod for throwing LC Pointer 78?

Fished a lake my buddy has been telling me to go to for a while and had the best shore fishing day of my life in both numbers and size. All but 1 fish caught on the pointer 78. Don't even know why I bought them but they've been in my box for a couple years and today was the first time I tied one on....

Turn over time for reel maintenance?

Need to send a few reels in and procrastinated way too much and now I'm only about a month away from my personal short bass season. I imagine that turn around time for stuff sent to Shimano is pretty slow at the moment and totally understand, just curious if there's a generally established turn arou...
