Re: Daiwa Tatula LT1000
For about $50 or so more, I would choose a Luvias 1003. After using shallow spool spinning reels for a number of years, I would not go back to standard capacity spools for ultralight fresh water fishing.

Re: Loomis SR6010-2 GL3
The tip top is different. Other guides appear the same.
The GL3 is action is not as crisp feeling, more parabolic I think. It's difficult to fairly compare the two rods...a two piece rod versus a one piece built with different materials. I prefer the IMX one piece...search goes on.

Re: USDM 500-size reels
I don't back reel. But removing the lever to switch the anti reverse on or off makes no sense to me. In order to let a small amount of line out, does the bail have to be opened to do so?

Re: YouTube EnjoyFishing !!!!
I see the point in using heavier minnow plugs for high gradient small streams, low trajectory casting is easier. The Rapala Ultra Light Minnow might be a good choice, the 04 size weighs the same as the 06 size (1/8 oz). One of my friends swears by it for steambred rainbows. The aerodynamics of the R...

Re: Daiwa Megatop
I have a Presso AGS 54 XUL-S with the Megatop. It is very sensitive. The solid tip is only .8 mm thick. I'm sold on it for ultralight fishing with light lures. Mine is an Area rod designed for micro spoons and line up to 3lbs. The Chronos 682 ULS-ST is a bass rod. I'd be suspicious it would effectiv...

Re: Daiwa Certate 1003
I have a Presso 1025 as my ultralight reel, smoother than anything I've owned. The Certate has an aluminum body so should be very tough. The higher end Daiwa reels lay line on the spool beautifully, especially precision wound JDM lines like Sunline.

Re: USDM 500-size reels
I saw at my local tackle show that for 2018 shimano USA is introducing 500 size Nasci and Sarahas I believe. having said that, a 1000 Size Stradic Ci4+ should be light enough for just about any UL size rod no? and you would get the benefits of a 1000 size spool (casts better than a 500 size) I am p...

Re: Japan style trout spoons
Whats the best U.S. style spoons? I'm gonna pick up some from Japan also but just wondering.... The Little Cleo is available in 1/16 oz and Dardevil has a 1/32 and 1/16 Skeeter and Lil Devle. There may be others but I'm not familiar with them. Nothing in the US can match the colors, weights, and sh...

Re: Japan style trout spoons
The 1.8 g Lupins are proving to be an excellent choice in my case. I tried them out on my Daiwa Presso AGS 54 XUL-S with the 1025 Presso reel. With 3 lb Sunline Area Meister, I really have to pay attention to keep them out of trees across smallish streams. At the local lake they outcast everything e...

Loomis SR6010-2 GL3
I'm interested to know which guides are used on the GL3 version, my 6010 IMX has been my stream trout rod for almost 25 years. Mine has the tiny tip top with very small guides. I saw a GL3 some years ago but don't recall the guides being the same as the IMX version. I'd like a two piece version. Tha...
