Pssh... To a certain extent they'll use whatever they have to in order to sell rods.
You do you, brother.

Re: What are your thoughts and experiences
not taking over. I appreciate the enlightenment.. Right on. I try to get good info out there without veering too subjective or pedantic, but it's a challenge when it's something I'm passionate about, especially when it relates to a recent discovery. Well put; and, could not agree more. As I more an...

Re: Varivas Super Suspender SSR-610T
Thanks for the comments. Rod is very nice in many ways and I am sure my disappointment will fade over time - I may come to love it. I am mainly frustrated by the Xfast action, which I did not expect, and can easily live with the front heavy part (as the overall rod is so light it is no nuissance wh...

Re: Varivas Super Suspender SSR-610T
I still think it sounds like a fun rod. It might surprise you. It may not be what you expected, but it may shine for techniques you haven't yet considered. Plus, the way a rod behaves in the front yard and the way it behaves on the water or with a fish on can be completely different.

Re: BFS and PowerPro
Are you tying on a leader? I use 8# j-braid on my alphas air, but without the benefit of a few feet of 6-8# fluoro leader I'd be afraid to use line that thin. First time you get over zealous and get a sudden braid backlash you're liable to see your bait go flying into Oblivion when the line snaps at...

Re: Varivas Super Suspender SSR-610T
Awesome. Have fun with that! That's a very intriguing rod. On another note, can anyone explain what a smolava/smolava/sumorava is? What about scrolls? There are others I can't recall at the moment, but what the hell baits are they talking about?? Scone rig is another. Also does Okappari mean bank fi...

Re: Talk me off the ledge please
I am a complete tackle snob I think you know your answer. Get another Aldebaran BFS. That is sound advice if I was going specifically the BFS route. I purposely don't want to spend the money on another Aldebarran. I do have an older MG7 Aldebarran I could spruce up if the XF50 turns out to be a lem...

Re: keitech 2.8 rigging
Anyone try the smallest Owner Flashy Swimmer on these? I have, and it works pretty well, but you'll go through them fairly quickly if they're biting. Another guy mentioned that those work better with the 3.3's, but I haven't tried that yet because I didn't have any. The closest thing Academy had wa...

Re: Expride Med
I have 6'10 med expride 1st gen and it is excellent for jerkbaits. I wonder if the 2 gen is a lot different from first. The price for the 1st gen 6'10m was 349 about 90 more then the 2nd gen. The only 2nd gen's that cost that much are the 9ft rods. There is only one way to be certain. Send me your ...

Re: What are your thoughts and experiences
A lot of JDM rods are designed with versatility in mind. Over there a 6'6" regular to regular fast, medium to medium heavy stick is king, it seems. I'm totally on board, too. They have mastered that progressive regular taper that maximizes versatility, castability, and fish fighting prowess without ...
