True - let us not go down that worm hole 🥳Fishing4Fun wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 2:20 pmCasting distance Shimano vs Daiwa? This is a whole nother can of worms. There are some big time Daiwa distance spools that I would put up there against anything Shimano has to offer.

Re: New Steez A II vs High End Shimano’s
I used to prefer Shimano, but in recent years I have been a bigger fan of Daiwa mostly because of the many different spool options for any given Daiwa platform (34 mm spools especially). Both brands feel great in my hand. The overall feeling of quality is what makes Shimano and Daiwa stand out and a...

Re: Best all around Daiwa Casting Reel ?
I think the short answer here is anything that utilizes a 34mm spool. Pick your platform and form factor and have at it. Plenty of BFS and mag finesse spools, tame spools for wind or target casting, max distance spools etc. Plus you have all the fun colored SV and ZPI spools. These 34 mm spools can...

Re: Fiberglass BFS Trout Rods
I have posted photos of my two glass rods from Resilure elsewhere on this forum. I have never held or seen any rod that comes close to his rods in fit, finish, and sheer beauty - that includes any rod I have ever seen on TT. Works of art that are fantastic to fish with. ….If Bamboozle wants somethi...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!
I recently acquired a SDS Custom spool for the Tatula 80. I love the little 80 and 70 models because of the aluminum side plate, they are little tanks. This spool absolutely transformed the 80 into a dynamite reel for my type of fishing, which is throwing relatively small tubes and jigs for smallmo...

Re: Trout Starter Set
very pretty. those hard baits are all nice looking. =D> but if they aren't working, just throw a simple mepps or panther martin. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I've caught 10+ trout on a spinner for every single trout I've caught on a hard minnow bait. I am on the same page. Love spoons and hard mi...

Re: 19 Antares for stream trout?
The Ray’s spool is the DIY spool I wrote about. It is a nice spool for the Antares. You have to install brake shoes yourself, i.e. remove two shoes from the spool you own and put them on the Rays/DIY. Do not put much more line on the spool than absolutely needed, e.g. 50 yards, and you will do fine ...

Re: 19 Antares for stream trout?
No, the spools are not compatible although they are very similar. There are small differences in spool/shaft dimensions. The reels cast very much the same in my hands, but I did find it just a tad easier to throw 5-7 gram lures with the Antares.
