Re: problem with PFLUEGER SUPREME XT...
Wish I could help. Have one of these and will warn you. If you call Pflueger for parts, you will discover that this reel does not exist. The person I talked to could not locate any information on them. I have to point them to their own website to convince them I was talking about one of their reels...

Re: The Search fpr the Best Ultra-Lite Spinning Reel
Jean, it appears that you have a "reverse taper" of the line lay on that SS700 spool, like one sees on later Daiwa ABS spools. Did the reel lay it down that way, or did you manually skew the line stacking as you were putting line on the reel? It is post like this that makes me really enjoy TackleTo...

I use 8 & 10# braid works very well. If all you use is 6-8# anyways no reason to go higher with braid.

Re: carbonlite: old vs. new (pics)
i've got 2 of the 7:1 & 1 of the 5:1. the 5:1 is no problem at all, but one of the 7:1 has a grind every rotation. i've got to send it back and get a replacement. i really like the reels, but i wish they weren't as noisy. they can also be a bit finicky to set up . they remind me a lot of the steez ...

Re: PowerPro for First Baitcaster
You should be fine with 30#PP
I started my 10y/o son on bc with 10# pp just set-up the reel correctly with extra spool tension and a few brakes applied however you particular reel works. You dont need to have 150' cast right off shoot for 50-60' or so, but like start with 1/2oz weights.

Well got my gear set-up with S8S. Stradic & Supreme XT with 10# Aqua, 50E & JM Carbonlite with 15# Timber. I think that Timber might be difficult to sight/line fish with if need be with sunglasses on.

Re: Avid 6'6" Spinning Rod
How would the ML pair up with a stradic fj1000? I have a 8' ML-Mod Avid with Stradic FI 1000 worked great together til the stradic started to have issues it works fine just a bit loud/noisy. So if you get a good stradic you'll be set. The rod thought is superb the mod action I really enjoy. Good ti...
