Re: Berkley Gulp
Actually I really like the idea of the lures, feel a little less guilty when i lose them to the lake. I have fished the minnow worm and minnow grub, both with success. Honestly the lures don't seem to exhibit the same quality of action as a salt impregnated plastic like a Zoom or Yamamoto though.......

Re: sassy toad by sizmic
I like how the Sizmic makes some serious noise for a topwater plastic, does the Horny toad ,make the same amount of noise, and is it exactly the same type of noise?

Re: sassy toad by sizmic
hey guys I have fished the Sizmic and love it. the recessed hook hanger is awesome. When I looked at pics of the horny toad I don't see that, or am I missing something. Also I think teh Sassy Toad is real durable, is the horny as durable or more elastic?

Re: New Shimano reels, especially the Chronarchs...
WOW. Kudos to Shimano...the new Chronarchs look deadly! Now I don't know what to buy, TD Fuego or Chronarch Mg! But the Chronarch B is a must have, TE gearing is the best!
Thanks for the preview TT, will there be any news about new Shimano rods coming out guys?

Re: Striped Bass on my soon to be rod
Thats a great rod and a even better price. The AVid is nice and stiff and can shoot striper flies just fine. I say go for it. The fish will liukely feel real big on that rod, and be a blast to fight.

Castaway review
Nice review of the Castaway rod holder. I could definately use one. Quick question, once the rod holder is locked is it very difficult to open the box or pull the rods out? Or remove the rack from the car all together. Just wondering if this is something I would feel comfortable with while camping. ...

Biggest was 14lbs, she came out of the Delta. Actually I don't know the delta well, just was riding shotgun on a friends boat. We laucnhed out of Orwood and hit a school where there is a drawbridge for a train. Righta t teh jucntion we caught maybe 15 schoolies before getting into some 10+ lb fish.

Re: Lipper Tool
I defintely think the Boga and Rapala tools may look better then the Lipper in design and materials, but in terms of functionality nothings as fast and easy to use. The thingie and trigger mechanism takes all the trouble out of working the tool into the fish's mouth. Just position and push. Sdesign,...

Re: Nissan Titan
The GM cars have nice engines, and exteriors, but the interiors just are a little different for my tastes. They dont seem as nice as the Ford or Japanese offerings. Granted the previous generation ford's are iffy too.

Re: Stripers on the fly vs conventional
Conventional all the way. I fish fly too, but a conventional guy can alwasy rig up a streamer/bucktail when teh fly guys are doing well and get many of the same type of hits. But when the fish are deep the conventional guys have a much bigger arsenal....jigs, swimbaits, jerkbaits, topwater...etc.

Re: Fishing shallow or deep?
Shallow all the way. The only way i can go deep is vertical jigging. I have had absiolutely no success with drop shot rigs...but its probably becuase I'm doing it wrong.

You forgot Van Staal. Their c-vex totally sealed drag is a thing of beauty.
