Re: BEST reel for weightless fluke

I use a mostly-stock Alphas Finesse Custom, 30lb J-braid to 16lb Sunline FC100 leader. It took me an entire year of fussing with different reels and line combos to settle on it. It's not ideal for how I use a fluke, but it's the best option I have found.

Re: Newer Daiwa knob design is garbage!

I never realized they were controversial. I’m a big fan of both sizes, the small ones especially are my preferred choice for anything finessey.

Re: Why is DRT so damn expensive?

They're like the Rolex of fishing or what. They’re more like a limited edition sneaker designed by some rapper where they only made 10 of them and were sold exclusively through a pop-up store in a random NYC subway station which was only announced via an obscure Instagram account. Hypebeasts gonna ...

Re: MB Hyuga 72H/Super Red Demon, what rod sits in between?

Ordered a Black Rose this morning, thanks again all for the advice. It was neck and neck between it and the Outtrack, but I couldn't find the latter in stock anywhere. I need to sort out a reel for it. I am going to try a Ryoga 1520 and a SV103 first, if neither of them work out I will have to buy s...

Re: MB Hyuga 72H/Super Red Demon, what rod sits in between?

I have started looking at this again and think I am going to order either the Black Rose or the Dead Sword. I am leaning towards the Black Rose as I think it will fit my needs better, but I do admit that the price tag is going to add some nervousness to my hike-in fishing trips. I would go for the O...

Re: Shift from Jigs to creature setup

I use about the same tackle for both jigs and creatures, the difference is really where I will be fishing them and how fast I need to be moving. Heavier soft cover and faster fishing the t-rigged creature gets the nod as I can spend more time fishing and less time un-snagging or cleaning snot off th...

Re: Your Path to the Dark Side ...

A few years ago I bought a PX68 from someone on here and an old Recon II BSF rod from someone else. I had just gotten into casting tackle and was a dedicated finesse fishermen so it seemed reasonable. It wasn't and I wasted like a mile of line learning how to cast on that combo, but BFS got a bite o...

Re: Different Sunline Sniper?

What's the intended purpose/difference in these lines, does anyone know? The one on left seems a little stiffer and thicker in hand, and also level wound onto the spool. https://i.imgur.com/GBTbfZZ.jpg If it's the same as this Shooter, it is in fact stiffer and maybe a little thicker. I have been u...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

A few disjointed thoughts on the Bait Finesse after 3-4 hours and 3-4 bass: 1) It casts like a dream. Admittedly it is replacing a ML/XF rod, so it will be better just in terms of taper, but above and beyond that, this thing is so so nice to make casts with. Distance and accuracy are both great and ...

https://i.imgur.com/BjtSu7x.jpg https://i.imgur.com/tjMmliJ.jpg At long last, I have my p5 Bait Finesse. Picked it up an hour or so ago, the little yard casting I did with it really impressed me. It casts like a dream is light enough for one-handed casting, It feels way shorter than its's length, t...

Re: New Daiwa reels

Has anyone gotten their hands on a Salamandura?

I kinda want to get one of the new Steez AGS rods and would need a suitably flashy reel to go on it.

Yeah if you could that would be awesome. Thanks https://i.imgur.com/UHJ4jwol.jpg The clamshell is pretty big, Plano 3500 for reference. It can easily fit 3-4 bags of plastics. The little pockets great for small baggies of assorted TT and the pocket behind the zipper has some dividers in it as well....

Re: Tackle sling bag

That looks almost identical to the pantagonia sling pack I was looking at. Do you know if that Fishpond bag can fit a pack of 6” roboworms in the front hardshell pocket? Also I seen it had a net holder, have you tried using that? I appreciate the help. The front pocket is easily big enough for 3-4 ...

Re: Tackle sling bag

I’m looking to get a tackle sling pack for shore pounding. I was looking at the tackle warehouse sling pack or the pantagonia stealth atom sling. Anybody have any experience with these and care to share their thoughts? Much appreciated Not those two, but I have been using a Fishpond Summit sling fo...

Re: What's your Dark Sleeper rod?

been using my orocchi braillist for dark sleepers....i just wished these things were more weedless and the eyes more durable.. Someone on IG posted a picture of a DS with the factory eyes replaced with googly eyes. It was hilarious and I am mad I didn't save the pic. 100% with you on the weedlessne...
