Re: Uncle Josh Pork Rinds Discontinued
Just heard the bad news. Called the factory to confirm. I was told the rinds are being harvested too young losing it's durability. Too much waste to make a product. No word on clearance at the factory store so keep an eye out. I suspect that the reason that they are discontinuing them has little to...

Re: Chipped paint on jig heads
You can paint them with two part clear epoxy BEFORE you use them. It's pretty durable.

Re: Tungsten Spinnerbaits
My favorite as well. I managed to pick up a bunch when they were clearing them out a few years ago. Now down to the last two. Have not found another spinner bait in the same league as the Custom Tungstens. Why on earth did they discontinue them?

Re: best line and lb. test for topwater
Well, after losing a fat little piggy and a brand new "One's Bug", I think I'll be moving up to 22lb. Not a knot malfuction. No "pennant", just a pop. I have to take a bit of responsibility, I was moving to get the net. Did I say she was a piggy? I would have reached down for her but the bait was no...

Either 10 or 14 lb Fireline Fused and a 10 or 14 lb (depending on the cover) Fluoro leader. NRX 803s paired with a 2500 Stella.

Re: Ned rig rod
I really like my MHX HM 7ft light power popping rod blank with 6lb CXX. My absolute favourite way to fish. Had this yesterday with the rig, pink half zinker on a 3/32 home pour head with an Eagle Claw Lil' Nasty hook. Tremendous! http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c120/Tim--Kelly/c31b009d-e1a5...

Re: Metanium MGL - XG or HG for all-around?
The IPT of the HG is 31 and that of the XG is 36. Personally I prefer the 31 IPT for the techniques you mention. I find it easier to speed up my retrieve with a slower reel then to slow down with a faster one. With an XG reel I find my spinner or chatter baits keep rising and blowing out the surface...

Been using the NRX 822S SYR. Super sensitive and well suited for the Ned Rig.

Re: Spending big money on spinning reel?
I would say that if like me you use spinning reels for 50% or more of your fishing then investing in the best reels you can afford (or cannot   ) is definitely worth while. Over the past few years I have acquired a number of Stellas (FE's and FI's) and it is the best investment I have mad...

Any feedback? Lack of grease or a faulty reel? Thinking of getting one myself.

Re: Curado I question
Take another look at the instructions that came with the reel. They advise you to apply a light layer of oil to the brake blocks and the race. Use a ear bud and apply a very light layer to the tips of the blocks and the race. The noise should disappear.
