Hello
Anyone out there been using a JDM Zillion 1000? I've never used an aluminum geared reel, but was interested in this reel.
I'd be using it for jig and t rig fishing primarily. Thanks.

Remember the Curado MGL complaints
I was just cleaning a Curado 70 MGL and appreciating how nice it was. Then I remembered how so many people were complaining about how they looked when they came out. I always found it to be a great looking reel, not much different that the Curado K. Not sure why so many people didn't like the looks ...

Re: 2020 Metanium MGL spool bearing
Usually says on the schematic "non user replaceable sool pin" or something to that degree... One of 2 ways. Remove the spool bearing shield and blast out inside crud Or remove the pin and do it properly. Just be mindful of the pin and its reinsertion (a little oil helps prevent galling). The spring...

Re: 2020 Metanium MGL equal
Hello I recently bought a 2020 Met MGL, and love it 100%. I have a bunch of Daiwa Tatula sv tw 2017 and newer one that are fantastic reels, I have zero issues with them. I'm an only use Daiwa, and Shimano reels person, and was wondering what would be the Daiwa equal to the Met MGL 2020? Define ‘equ...

Re: 2020 Zodias
I got my warranty replacement today. They replaced my 6'8MLMF (ZDS268ML) with the new 6'9MLF (ZDS69MLA). The new 6'9 has to be a different blank entirely. It doesn't feel nearly as whippy, it's a bit stiffer and is probably more for jigs/worms/dropshot than moving baits which is what I loved the pr...

Re: BFS and PowerPro
The 8# PowerPro is working well on my Conquest BFS. That rod sees the Mississippi River and connected backwaters, so the green PP seems to be a good match. Never know what you're going to hook! Thanks for input. Have some 5000 yards of #8 PP on the shelf or coming in. Tried it for the first time to...

Re: BFS and PowerPro
How do you guys deal with line getting between the spool and the frame?
I have a 2017 Tatula SV tw with a Ray's studio spool loaded with 8lb InvisX, and the line occasionally will get in there.
I thought about 10lb braid, but it's even thinner dia.

Re: Light action spinning rod suggestions
I have the 7' L Zodias, and it has a fantastic action. It's a perfect Ned rod, and is very versatile for any light baits.

Re: Ray's BFS spool question for Daiwa
I had my first day using my BFS rig today. I was casting 3/32 ned rigs for bass. Shimano Sensilite 7' long light power rod, Ray's spool in a Tatula SV 2017, with 8lb InvizX. I caught 8 nice bass from 1.5-2.5lbs, and the rig worked fantastic. I would estimate my casts were comfortably going 70' max. ...

Re: Ray's BFS spool question for Daiwa
Cool, that answers my question. I would probably use a Bitsy Bug jig, or an open hook jig/grub.

Re: Ray's BFS spool question for Daiwa
I took 2 old Fuegos that were not being used since I have some nicer, and more fun reels for cranks and swimbaits. I got a couple of $35 BFS spools and put new 8.1:1 gears in the Fuegos and some 20lb braid. Now they are in the lineup getting used for light jigs and plastics for close range target c...

Re: Ray's BFS spool question for Daiwa
I will see once I start using it. I felt it would be better to buy a $40 spool, and put it in a great reel, than buy a cheap $65 BFS reel and roll the dice.

Re: Ray's BFS spool question for Daiwa
So there's no difference in buying a right or left spool, they are interchangeable?
