Re: 2016 Antares DC owners, verdict?

T Hi freelancer27 I know some states Antares 2016 DC cannot be used in the salt. But I don't believe. The reel have sarb bearings like the other DC reels that I have used in the salt for years without any issue. Try to read the user manual, can be found here: http://fishing.shimano.co.jp/fishing_inf...

Re: 2016 Antares DC owners, verdict?

Hi wbook1 I have fished Calcutta 100DC and the "old" Antares DC for severel years. And just tried the new Antares DC 2016 once. The old Antares is very much a "can do all" reel, long casts, short precision casts, casts in strong wind, light lures, heavy lures and so on. Until now my longest casting...

How did you start with your Antares DC?

Hi all,  I am the proud owner of a wayyyy too expensive 2016 Antares DC (high gear) reel. After selling a reel with some unexpected profit I just had to silence the 'WANT IT' voice in my head. Since all manuals are in Japanese and there is also no documentation in English out there (the Calais DC gi...

English Manual for 2016 Antares DC?

Hi,
I pulled the trigger on a 2016 Antares DC from one of the Japanese Tackle stores. I havent received it yet, so I dont know if my post is actually needed, but I am assuming that the reel comes only with Japanese manuals.

Are there any English manuals out there?

Thanks!

Re: Braid lb for swimbaits

I bought myself a nice round baitcaster for my swimbait fishing. Now I am wondering as well what line to put on and how. I was planning to put on 65# braid with a 25 # fluro leader. What I am wondering now though is: how long should the leader be, what knot. I am worried that the connection knot bet...

Re: Any reviews on the Megabass xx Extreme Mission????

Hi there,

I am considereing the EXTREME MISSION TYPE: F as well atm.

My areas of use would be:

Any experience with this rod for those applications?

Thanks!

I need help to build the right combos with my reels and rods

Hi all, I have to admit that I am a bit all over the place with my gear lately. What I mean with this is? I am reviewing my gear constantly to see how I can optimize it to address all of my 'bass needs'. What I am struggeling with is figuring out right now what reel to pair with what rod to optimize...

Looking for a rod for Spinnerbaits and small swimbaits

Hi all, once again I am looking for the great feedback from this community for an upcoming purchase! :) I am looking to get a Rod (that I would pair with a Daiwa Zillion SV TWS) that would be allocated for Spinnerbaits (up to 3/4oz) and smaller swimbaits (up to 1oz). I am planning to purchase the ro...

Seems like the consensus is that the Calcutta Conquest is not necessarily worth the 200 USD more.
Why are you shocked by my comment?

Shimano Calcutta 400D vs Calcutta Conquest 400

Hi guys, I am looking for a new swimbait reel that I can use for bigger baits (2-8 oz) in Fresh and Saltwater. My attention is right now on the Shimano Calcutta 400D and the Calcutta Conquest 400. I had a chance to test the Calcutta 400D over the weekend and really liked it overall. Of course the fa...
