Re: KVD 1.5's and Traps (1/4) rod
For the baits that you're describing, I recommend the Dobyns 704CB. That's the rod I'm using right now for my squarebills and mid depth diving crankbaits.

I use a champion 684c for spinnerbaits, swim jigs, and vibrating jigs.

Re: The Search for One: St. Croix Speaks in Xtremes
I've by no means fished one, but I have held one in a store. I like the new grip material as I'm not a huge fan of cork. The only thing that has stopped me from purchasing one is the reel seat. I do not like Fuji's SK-2 reel seat. Not much trigger for my hand to stop from sliding down when palming a...

Re: THE, Jig Rod
I'm not sure if you've gotten a chance to use it yet, but that Steez XBD frog rod is what I use for jigs, along with frogs. To me, the rod has the right action for how I fish jigs, along with the backbone to pull the fish from any cover that I'm fishing. That rod is more versatile than you may reali...

Re: Are there any others?
I don't know if castaway sells their reel seats separately, but they have a skeleton type that's not a two piece. Also, Alps has a new reel seat that is supposed to have a larger blank access.

Re: Finesse Jigs
I know it's not technically a finesse jig, but I really like using a Keitech tungsten model II football jig. The 1/2oz model is tiny and about the size the bitsy bug. They just need more colors.

Re: Where are the shimanos?
One more, added a 2nd reel for cranking next season. Am torn between moving keeping my CBR906 with the 100DC or trying the GLX855 CBR or 955CBR. I am giving the slightly bigger Calcutta TE200DC a try as I need a dedicated deep crankbait rod. Am looking at either the GLX956 CBR. Front http://i284.ph...

Re: Chronarch CI4+ owners, any update?
I've been enjoying mine a lot as well. Mine is on a Dobyns 684, which I use for spinnerbaits. Here is some pictures comparing it to other Shimano reels in post I responded to a couple weeks ago.

Looks like Tackle Warehouse is no longer sure if they will receive their order of Vixens from Reaction Innovation.
