I bought a G. Loomis MBR 783C rod with the Weibe reel seat about 3 years ago and still have yet to know what type of guides are on the rod? Are they Fuji or another brand, and are they Alconite, SiC, Hardloy, etc. Thanks.

Just wondering from all of you who have held the new Abu Record whether the top palming piece on the crossbar is made of rubber or plastic. I would think that if it was rubber, it would be less durable and would wear down quite fast when the palming the reel day in and day out. Also, how much 12 lb....

Is the thumb rest on the reel across the top bar made of plastic or rubber. If it is rubber, I would think it would eventually wear down due to constant palming of the reel. Did you happen to test a 40 sized model?

If you read the Daiwa manual, it warns against using the Supertuned Advantage in saltwater...not sure about the regular Advantage.
