Re: Kast King reels
There isn't a single reel they make that i've seen to be a value over a top tier MFR. They may be competitive in the 20$ price range..they may offer a 40$ price that others don't. But they are junk when they get in the 60$+ price range (particularly their spinning reels) I have a speed demon on loan...

Re: Megabass ito monoblock bespoke topaz
Never seen a yoke made out of metal (in a bass reel. maybe it is made out of another material in a SW reel). And why would it be? What would you gain from having this piece made out of, say, titanium? Is your toothbrush made out of metal? No, because it doesn't need to be. Same applies here. Daiwas...

Re: LT versus Ci4+FB
I put out some stuff about the new tats earlier today...the 3k is larger than a 3k shimano. But 6.8 ounces with no line. I put some time on the Tatula lt about 30hrs so far of winter finesse fishing. I love it. I also have a ci4 on loan that i've fished and it's excellent as well. I haven't realy s...

Re: Packing bearings with grease?
Don't overdue it, but yes the right grease will cause it to feel smoother. I use a soft grease like the Sportlife Planets 104 (used in the SLP Works factory). As was said, the handle won't spin as long as with oil. I was discussing this with Ian Shields a few months ago, and he even mixes his own g...

Re: Alphabrake - New Kind of Braking?
I don't think I can take this many revolutionary revolutions in such a short period of time. First the super bushings......and now a backlash free reel......what's next Taking Big ball bearings and putting bushings in em....hey wait..we can call them Ball bushingZ :) ( i call dibs on that revolution...

Re: Aldebaran BFS line options
So I tried 10lb PP super slick 8, and pretty much took it off after about 10 minutes. Either I was doing something wrong, or that line just doesn't play with a shallow spool. I had 30lb PPSS8 on a Revo SX last season and hated it too and it came off too. I'll be trying out 6lb sufix 832 next, thou ...

Re: Living up to the Hype? The Zero Ball Bearing Concept Z from 13 Fishing
The tolerance of the ID looks off. Is that what is causing the rattling during the cast? http://www.tackletour.com/images18/pic13fishingconceptzreel30.jpg The tolerances of the spool bushings are not exact. There is a bit of wiggle room. Clearly visible to the naked eye. And you can feel it. Same c...

Re: USDM 500-size reels
I've been playing with the 2000 sized ci4+ ballistics, tatulas, etc for a bit now. Out of the box i don't think you could go wrong with any of the fancy plastic reels from shim or daiwa. Pick your poison. I will say...think the tatula LT is gonna be "the" reel for 2018 It's reallly a nice and simple...
