Re: Prescription Sunglasses
I'm on my second pair. Have your optometrist set you up. You can only get so much wrap around from a prescription lens. They beat the snot out of wearing Cacoons or Fitovers. Be ready to drop at least 4 bills or more.

Re: Dobyns Fury 765Flip Thoughts?
I personally do not own the Fury but two guys I fish with do and have handled theirs. Both flip/punch with braid and have used 1 oz. primarily. The rod is rated to 2 oz. but that would be pushing it. Running 1.5 oz. in a pinch? That would be doable. I have the Champion 765 Flip and two DX795's and b...

Re: Dobyns HP 743C impressions
Nice review. I've fished my HP743 numerous times now and have been extremely happy with it. The two applications have been a 5 and 6 inch Senko and 1/4 to 7/16 once finesse jigs pitched and short cast. The HP really is a different animal from the previous DX model. The Toray material is much crisper...

735 will be a close as you can get with that range of baits. I have one and like it.

Re: Best Dobyns Champion Extreme Flipping Rod
795 is the deal. I have the older DX and I can only guess how much better the HP is. The balance is as good as it gets.

Re: How good is the Curado 200B5?
I also have a 200B5. The green Curados are, for their time, one of the best cranking reels out there. They still perform very well in comparison to the new stuff. Go enjoy it. Side note: Bassmaster magazine, years ago, used to recap tournaments and feature the top five finishers and the equipment an...

Re: Rod for rage toad & Rod for Hollow body frogs
Dobyns Fury 734 for toads and 735 for hollow body frogs. One of the best value rods out there. Lots of other applications for each model outside of frogs.

Re: Tackle Tour needs a jwr shootout for 2015, who agrees?
Awesome idea but increase the list to the top eight. At about 650.00 per rod, TT raters, buying the rods, should only have to budget about five grand.
Re: Jig Rod
I have a couple of Furys and they fish very well. Four guys I fish with have picked up Furys and they seem to be pretty happy with them.

Re: Great reels no one talks about?
The original BB1N and any of the Shimano B series. These are classics yet still perform at an amazing level...if you have any. There are still loyalists that covet these reels and for good reason.

This reel is an OG Zillion with a Tatula handle set and state of the art cast control. That equals great ergonomics, quality, durability and a refined cast control system that helps with light lures and wind issues. It's tight, fluid, connected and out casts my OG Zillion with 3/8 plus and it smoke...

Re: New Dobyns Champion XP
Here is the positive from what I see and have heard. Gary Dobyns listened to his customers and evaluated the use of Kigan guides. I for one have not had a single guide failure but I have read enough, even here on TT , that guide failures were/are an issue. There's been a change to Fuji, a more expen...
