Anyone weight the stock spool without the bearing?
I also wonder how the spool actually differs from the KTF aftermarket spool.

Re: Coronavirus "Covid-19"
I just received an AliExpress spool...I left it in the simgle digit cold for a few days and then sprayed the package with Lysol. Then wiped the spool with Lysol wipes.

Re: Favorite Aldebaran Model
I like the 12/15 BFS and the current frame (15, 16 BFS, MGL, Stile).
I havent had much experience with the MGL because its winter here.

Re: Rod for Steez
Cant really go wrong either way. I would put the faster of the two reels (Steez or the other reel) on the NRX. I like fast reels for baits I move with my rod. I slow it down with moving baits like chatterbaits and such

Re: 12# sniper?
Sniper works for me.
Oddly enough, I prefer skipping with FC vs braid. Idk what it is but, I feel there are less problems. An issue is, when there is a problem outside of a small amount of loose line, it is major and usually cannot be undone.

Re: —Daiwa Catalina TW 4.9:1–
Can anyone comment on any 8:1 or 9:1 gear sets available that will work with this reel?? I just purchased a pair of the LH 7.3:1 version from TTT and I'm looking to speed one of them up. Thanks. I did test the Zillion TWS 9.1 gears in the 4.9 Catalina. The gears physically fit. I did not really try...

Re: '12 Aldebaran BFS vs '15 Aldebaran BFS Limited
Been a while but, both are pretty decent reels. The 15 is better at the really light stuff. I view the 12 as more of a power BFS reel compared to todays offerings. Really depends on the price and the size lures. If you you plan on consistently theowing below 1/8oz total weight , Id opt for the 15. T...

Re: K2 Blank Sensitivity Compared To NRX, Conquest, Poison Adrena Level Rods
So if I wanted a 3/8 to 1/2 oz texas rig rod you guys would probably go with the 715? I was looking to at the 714 and I wanted to add some to the butt to get it around 7'4". I would go with the 715 for those weights. 714 "can do it" but, not really ideal. I havent used the 715 so, I am merely going...

Re: Budget Sweet Spot... Casting Reels
I like how poor people who can't afford high end gear always say ;"your 600$ rod won't catch you more fish than my 40$ ugly stick uhuhuhuhuh". But it does catch more fish.I can feel so many more bites that I couldnt detect when I was poor and fishing with cheap rods. You get what you pay for.A 600$ ...

I had one Didn’t blow my skirt up Reel seat didn’t match the cork had to sand it down to match. I can wrap a rod better than the one I had For a bottom contact rod get the steez Ags 7’5” More powerful but balance is better and better fit n finish and pretty much just as versatile I was interested i...

Re: Steez CT TWS and Antares 70
For the Steez owners Do you prefer it more for plastics or hardbaits or both? I used mine in an "all-round" role. Mainly plastics but, I have thrown jerkbaits, topwaters, and small cranks on mine. That with my K2 714 was one of those combos I would bring it I could only bring one, like shore fishin...

Re: K2 Blank Sensitivity Compared To NRX, Conquest, Poison Adrena Level Rods
My custom 714 is insane. Like said before, less power than spec'd and more of a slower type of fast.
I used my 714 for light-ish Texas Rigs and...I needed more backbone. I now use mine for jerkbaits, shakeyhead, topwater, senko...anything like that.
