TD Luna 253 spool options?
Wondering if there are other spools that fit in a Luna 253. I'm planning on picking up this reel for small-medium swimbaits and a-rigs. I love the way my tuned Luna 103 turned out, and hoping I can do similar upgrades to the 253 size.

Re: Spybait Rod Question
I use a megabass hedgehog rod. Similar to their dropshot rods with a stinger tip. I think it's great. Super sensitive and keeps fish pinned. I fish spybaits the same way I fish dropshot rigs, with braid and a fluorocarbon leader.

Re: Over 9foot expride rods?
That's the one I'm most excited about. What would be a good pairing for it? One of the new exsence reels?Bantam1 wrote:The spinning rod is pretty sweet.

Over 9foot expride rods?
Bantam1,
Can you give me any information on the long expride rods? Interested in actions and uses.
Thanks

Re: Daiwa Theory 2017 and Aegis 2017 your thought .:.
I have the theory 2506. It's the smoothest sinning reel I've owned. Feels more refined than my stradics (fk and ci4+). It's also very light. Can't compare it to a luvias though. I still get line twist though with mono. I was going to buy another one until daiwa announced the LT series.

Re: Deep spool option for Luna 103?
Ended up getting the rcs 1016 spool with hh air hd bearings. This setup is super fast! It took much more braking and thumbing to avoid backlashes. It's even faster than my polished/tunes type r+ spool with Boca os7 bearings. I'm not putting too much power or speed in my casts and I'm getting great ...

Re: Anyone with experience with Daiwa cronos spinning rods?
I've had the rod for a few weeks now and took it out a few times. I really e joy it. Light for its length and plenty sensitive for its price point. It's no Megabass hedgehog, but it's just what I was looking for. Light enough tip for casting and manipulating light rigs. Good power and backbone for f...

Deep spool option for Luna 103?
Looking for a deep spool for my Luna 103L. Currently using a tdz 103 type r+ spool and I'm getting uncomfortably close to the arbor on long casts with 5/8 oz hard baits and 12 lb sufix siege. I can often see and feel the arbor knot at the end of casts. Looking at either the rcs 1016 or the spool for...

Jdm Daiwa pe spinning reels?
I see that Daiwa Japan makes some spinning reels designated "pe" for braid/super lines. Can't find much info behind the technology. Read that the pe reels help reduce issues with braid. My question is how do work? Also, do they really work?

Re: Anyone with experience with Daiwa cronos spinning rods?
Found a 7'6" cronos for a good price. Just placed my order. Now I just have to choose a reel. I'd feel weird not putting a Daiwa on it. Thinking a jdm reel like an emeraldas or theory.

Re: Anyone with experience with Daiwa cronos spinning rods?
I was planning on buying the rod for around $130-140. A few online stores had it at that price. Cheapest is see now is $160 after tax and shipping. Might wait and see if I can find it cheaper.

Re: Anyone with experience with Daiwa cronos spinning rods?
Big_gee, what makes you like the xfast more? I have a stinger tip Megabass drop shot rod and feel that it is very tech specific. I am looking for a little more versatility, BUT I drop shot A LOT. I guess what I want is a rod that can fish different finesse techniques but is also good with dropshotti...
