I'll let you know when I get there. 8-)

Hopefully by then the Mag 3D will be in a cheaper reel. [-o<

Re: NEW Daiwa T3 info !!!

Other than part of the yoke plate/assembly being plastic, I don't see anymore plastic than was used in the TD-Z (pictured on top). :-k *Not including the plastic externals....drag star, pawl cap and drag star....which is disappointing. Also disappointing is the 3 bushings in the handle and wormgear...

I think all of the major manufacturers are doing the same.

Re: The Trained Thumb... soon to be a relic of the past?

Looking at the evolution of braking systems to where they are today, do we even need to have a trained thumb anymore? The latest generation of reels come equipped with dual-braking, MagV, MagZ, iDC+, DC4x8, and Magforce 3D... presumably you can dial in the optimal setting for just about any scenari...

Re: Baitcasting or spinning reel??

I used both. I quit using spinning gear due to line twist. I practiced throwing baits using the bait casting gear and found that the backlashes virtually disappeared the more I practiced. Additionally, my casting and pitching accuracy increased tremendously with virtually zero line twist. As mentio...

Re: Line Twists

Hello guys, Anyone have a good method for getting line twists out? I tend to have some issues when Drop Shotting. I mostly use Sunline Sniper 6-8#. I started using a swivel and it helped a bit however I fish Erie mostly so I am constantly re-tying and it was just too much. Do you guys prefer the po...

Re: NEW Daiwa T3 info !!!

Thanks for the teardown! =D> =D>

My two thoughts:
1. I think I might go for the Ballistic if it has a metal main gear.
2. Daiwa should have used inserts and fine pitch machine screws instead of those screws. Not a fan.

Re: Trouble Staying hooked up on Hollow Body Frogs!

You are going to lose more fish than normal on those baits...just the nature of the game. Slop, topwater, big fish, unforgiving line and stout tackle = recipe for losing fish. I agree with Stuckey - get a slightly longer (7'2"-7'4") and more powerful rod. I use the Lami frogging rod and it is ...
