While it's done on heavier gear I would think the settings and technique would be the same.

Re: Rapala R-Type 7'2" MHF 2 piece Casting Rod

While I don't have that specific rod I do have the 6'7" R-Type MH Spinning and I must say it is probably my favorite rod. I use it mostly for bass (I did use it last year around opener for pike and will use it at opener again this year) and I find it has plenty of power to handle the bass, and the o...

If I remember correctly they are going to be releasing a couple new custom ink colors at some point in the very near future.

Re: Rapala New super realistic colors

I'm pretty sure it's a Rapala Canada experiment, Rapala Army mentioned that it was "for Canadian Waterways". I did find a photo for the live sucker pattern for the X-Rap as seen in the attachment, I had to crop it for the uploader to accept it but it has a white feathered treble.

Re: Lake trout fishing

I've caught a couple on a Rattlin' Rapala, however any will likely work. Lipless Cranks work best on aggressive fish, passive fish are likely to not chase the bait and will likely just have a look at the bait.

Re: Favorite Mono & Size For Top Water Baits ?

For Skitter Props and size 07 Skitter Pops, I use 8lb Trilene XT (on a M spinning mind you), for Skitter Walks and the largest Skitter Pops I use 12lb XL

Re: Lake trout fishing

Through my limited experiences laker fishing, vertical jigging is a good method to catch fish (assuming you have a depth finder handy). Lipless crankbaits and soft plastic swimbaits rigged on jigheads work pretty well, I'm sure tubes and jigging spoons would work as well. Simply drop the bait down a...

My only Brookie to come out of Ontario waters (but also my largest, 17") on a Berkley Micro Power Nymph: http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/panfisherteen/th_021-3.jpg Was a complete surprise considering I was going for these during camp: http://i133.photobucket.com/albums/q60/panfisherteen/th_02...

This is what the store has for the grubs, tubes, and beavertails. There were 4 black/blue left, the rest of the beavertails seemed to be in decent number.

Can't wait to do that in May when the Crappies are up shallow here. Nicely done, and those are some good sized ones 8-)

Re: Ultralight Soft Baits

Made a walk over to the store, unfortunately they're moving everything around right now since they had a lot of the panfish stuff in tbe ice fishing aisle. They have the Vibratubes, Wooly Curltails or whatever they're called, and of course the Wooly Beavertails. They had all the holders in a shoppin...
