Re: New Revos

Very nice! Looks like the SX is still an alloy frame, But does it have the infini braking? Also does the winch have the infini spool?

Just got to wait for more info to be released. I do see a couple in my future! :big grin:

Re: building the 5.1:1 'crankin'steez'

Very nice! How about the STEEZ103HLA lefty? I only see td-z 103p, But no left hand reel to snag the gear set from. Pretty sure this would also work on the Advantage models HSTA and possibly the newer Tierra.

Clues on where to look on the lefty gearset?? :big grin:

Re: Gear Ratios

Basically its high speed for the stuff you need to get back to the boat quick, Flippin and pitchin. Medium(6's) jigs, shallow cranks, Texas and Carolina rigs. Power/low mainly for deep cranks. This depends on personal preference and how you fish. If you need to speed up you presentation by all means...

Re: Gear Ratio for medium diving crankbaits?

Mostly personally choice and use whats best for you. Trial and error as they say. I used to throw all my cranks with the lower (4.7 to 5.2) gear ratio's. But have had a few run at me and lost them due to not being able to keep up. So now I use the medium (6.3-6.4) gear ratio's on the 4-12' cranks an...

Re: souping up Old revo Stx and Johnny Moriis JMX10SHD

It depends on how much dough and how far you want to go. The chassis(frame) is the same with both versions of the STX. Order the spool and side cover to get dual braking. plus the handle and star for you'll be close. Add some trick bearings if you have any money left. Tricking these out is half the ...

Re: carbonlite: old vs. new (pics)

A little late joining the party, But I picked up 2 while on sale. A righty for my son(7.1) and a lefty(6.4) for me. Both are doing well. Was bummed they didn't have a 4 or 5 in the lefty as I throw cranks most of the day. But I scored a cheap PQ 5.2:1 and did the gear swap. :big grin: No issue with ...

I agree, Or a T3 /T3 Ballistic in a low gear as well. They boast a farther cast from the T3 series, But don't offer a gear for what we want the farthest casts for. Hope I said that right?

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

I am both depending on presentation. Cranks and other fast attacks is lefty with rod in right hand. Slow approach(jigs and wormin) is righty with rod in left hand. I give both arms a workout while on the water. But really if one gets tired, I can just switch for a while. This from a fella that can't...

T3 ballistic gears

Doesn't seem to be much info out on these yet. I am looking to drop the gears in mine for deep cranks. I assumed(that's bad!) that the gears would be similar to the Exceler, But was shocked when I looked inside. Main gear might work, But the pinion is way off the mark! ](*,) Does anyone know if ther...
