Re: my spool doesn't spin well
To get spool bearings spinning well, try flushing them in acetone or lighter fluid. Then after that has dried out, add your drop or two of oil.

Re: Curado201e7: The devastating Line Guide BNT3922
I do agree that I would personally prefer a metal cast of a levelwind guide instead of the plastic material one. I was wondering how is it possible to groove a cut well into beyond the angle of the metal cross bar guide for the levelwind. Without being there to actually see the results of the backla...

Re: is this a defective reel? curado 201e7
Often times the NIB reel is more sluggish compared to the store display model. In addition what you can hear in noise from a reel at home is surpising noisy compared to trying to listen to a reel at the store. More than likely the slight humming sound is nothing more than the anti-reverse pawl on th...

From what I see. Either your reel is modified or you're missing that cross bar guide for the level wind guide.

Re: TW reviews getting to me
LOL. My TP1SH casts 7.5 feet further than my Curado 200E7 on 3/8 oz bullet weight. However the Chronarch 100d7 does get another 7.5 feet further than my Lews.

Re: Sufix 832 Braid
The line will sink if you merely check a section of it in a bucket of water. However it will float if you're fishing a topwater lure. The line is very supple and watch out for tip wraps. The green color will wear out fast. It was the fastest color lost of any line I've used. The color also stained m...

If I remember right, I think they used to make some of the Yozuri lures.

Re: Using a snap swivel for ul trout lures
That just reminded me of some of the quick clip barrel swivels I've had. Unfortunately these were kind of cheap and are significantly much larger than ideal use for small lures.

Re: Your favorite UL spoon?
For casting distance, Kastmaster, Cast Champs, and Swedish Pimples. 1/12 oz is the lightest they come in, but I'll go with the 1/8 oz for distance. Scyclops are good too, but they weigh in at 1/6 oz. There's a thin trolling version at 1/16 oz, but not much for casting disince. Awesome for current dr...

Re: Using a snap swivel for ul trout lures
You can still get line twist just from your spinning reel. A higher quality swivel will do a better job and preventing lure induced line twisting. Fishing for stream trout is often about getting the bite just as your lure changes direction on your retrieve. I don't know how else to explain it, but i...

Re: Using a snap swivel for ul trout lures
Inline spinners tend to twist up lines, use the snap swivel.
As for brass, silver, or black snap swivels, I'll say that it depends on the lure color. More than often, I prefer black.

Re: shimano Saros 1000F
They made a mistake and left out the proper information. It's a shame that consumers were misled to believe the 1000 size Saros could've been made out of aluminum. This has happend in the past with other 750 and 1000 size reels.

Re: Using a snap swivel for ul trout lures
I use the smallest snap swivel I can find. Some spoons perform better without the swivel or rather I should say, get more fish strikes. Although it really is a retrieve speed that influences a spinning spoon or wobbling spoon.

Re: Fluoro for topwater?
It really depends on the acutual lure. I feel that sometimes, a certain topwater lure might sit too high and it get's weighed down by heavier larger sized hooks. Sometimes I wan't a little less riding on the surface of the water and prefer more of a wake approach.
